Fabulous restaurant - great surroundings, staff are lovely. Food is brilliant and based on catalonian cuisine, but the best bit is the fusion with English food. I especially loved the tortilla with scouse!! Love the deli aswell and you have got to have the olives stuffed with orange - delicious!

“simply delicious”
4 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 15 February 2012

I had read a good review of this restaurant/delicatessen in a local magazine, so when my friends and I were walking past it on the way to get some food elsewhere, on an impulse I said "let's go in".

Walking through the delicatessen we were immediately greeted by a very polite member of staff, shown to our table and well...

It was excellent.

The portions are good, the food is excellent, the service is attentive and courteous but not overbearing.

In fact, since there were 5 of us, the waiter very kindly asked the kitchen to make the "pan con tomate" portions reach out for 3 small slices each.

The only tiny snag was that my friend and I both ordered Earl Grey tea and this was quite tasteless - we did point this out to the girl who brought us the bill and to be perfectly honest she could have offered to take it off the bill (however, it being the only Earl Grey available, we had drunk it).

On the way out, we all stopped and shopped at the delicatessen, both items we had eaten and others among the inviting display - in fact if one filled in a comment card there was also a 10% discount on any purchases in the shop!

We will be back again both as a group and individually.

“Not living up to the reviews.”
3 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 11 February 2012

Wanting to try Lunya after all the raving reviews, I can not help but saying that is was a slight disappointment. The food was bland and only lukewarm. Example : the patas bravas. Bravas as in wild and spicy - which they were not. The fried chorizo in white fine - bland and mild. The chicken strips - undefined taste, some mad herbs in the sauce - bland. Kiddies portion of tortilla : four bland chunks. The only thing spicy here was the bill. The service was good though and so was the ambience. Sorry but you will have to do better next time

“Excellent service, fantastic tapas”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 9 February 2012

Lovely restaurant with friendly staff and gorgeous food.

We were late for our reservation which was at 6pm but this was no problem, and we were welcomed just the same.

We were in a rush to get to the Echo arena and were a bit concerned that we would be late, but we ordered promtly and received our food within about 10 minutes.
The food was of fantastic quality and the lamb with beans that my friend had was so tender- melt in the mouth!

I had patatas bravas, calamari and meatballs- all were superb and reasonably priced.

The only problem we had was finding the place- we had to use google maps on my iphone as the map on tripadvisor directed us in the completely wrong direction!!! This is why we were late.

But, I would not let this cloud the review, as I would highly reccomend Lunya and will deffinately visit again.
