Description: We look forward to welcoming you to The Cedars where you definitely get two for the price of one! We have the Bar Restaurant, which is on the right hand side as you approach the building, which serves the usual range of King Henry’s Taverns freshly prepared meals to your table. The setting here is quite stunning and not at all what you would expect from the main road. Panoramic windows in the main eating area overlook the fountain and pond, which is fed from a waterfall under a footbridge. Surrounded by gardens this is a great place for al fresco dining on warmer nights. On the left hand side we have our lounge bar, which is quite simply a great place to go for a drink. There's a spacious area with leather sofas for a more relaxed atmosphere. Why not visit the Bar Restaurant for a meal, then relax in the lounge bar and listen to great music!

We visited to celebrate my grandson's 9th birthday and also my birthday and our 42nd wedding anniversary. We pre-booked the table as there were 7 of us. We were greeted with friendliness when we arrived and shown to our table. The menu was very extensive and very reasonably priced, The restaurant is famous for the steaks they serve which can be normal size or very large! The food was hot and satisfying and we all really enjoyed it. We had taken a birthday cake with us and the staff brought it out with the candles lit so that we could surprise our grandson who was thrilled. The restaurant was very busy but it didn't take long from ordering to serving our meal. Will definately go again.

Myself and my 2 teenage children visited today at lunch. I ordered lamb chops marinated in a mint sauce with new potatoes and peas with a side salad. The lamb chops were so cremated they were black in places and the mint marinade was a pot of mint sauce, the potatoes had been microwaved the peas were hard and the lettuce was partly brown very disappointing. My son had cottage pie which was so dry and the potatoes on top tasted very much like instant mash and again the peas were hard. My daughter had the taggliatelly carbonara which she said was not bad but the sauce was very watery. I remember when this was a lovely place to have lunch. The outside of the building is very run down and needs a coat of paint and I think possibly so does the cook. Will not be revisiting

I have been going to the cedars with family and friends for years, it has had its ups and downs with changing staff but generally ok. we visited on Friday a party of 8 and what a change the staff were cheerful on the bar as we walked in, the place was buzzing and you could feel the atmosphere . we all had mixed grills or steaks that were cooked as we asked and they all looked and tasted amazing. staff were busy quickly cleaning tables but our meals still arrived within 20 minutes. The new manager introduced his self to us ( sorry I forgot his name) and told us about the refurbishment that is happening in a few weeks. He had a joke with us and moved on to talk to other tables. we all said what an improvement compared to November when we last visited. well done and keep up the good work this is what we need in this area.

Heating was well hot like a sauna
Only 3 complaints was the food was not big portions ,not overly hot food and sorry but the food did look like it was out of prepared size packets so the same same looking but hay it was cheap and clean
I will go there again but really need to think about those 3 items for improvement
Manager seem friendly as well
Sorry but would of given better rating if I could of breathed in there it must of been 35 c in there not comfortable and I did ask to turn the heating down but didn't happen
Thanks anyway
