Went to the Claremont this weeken ( Friday and Saturday ) This was a all inclusive paclage for 2 nights including all meals and drink. The food was very good, the bar staff were really friendly and wasted no time serving you and the entertainment, especially the comedians were superb.
Everone was so friendly and the older guest mixed in very well with the younger ones. Will definately do this again.

Room Tip: Book early and ask for a larger room when the Claremont release their special offers

Arrived back from a Sunday - Friday all inclusive break at the hotel on 17th February. Have stayed in this hotel several times before and have always had a pleasant stay. The all inclusive breaks are good and there things going on around the hotel throughout the week. However, during this stay a sickness bug developed and seemed to be spreading quickly throughout the hotel, I saw several guests packing up their cars throughout the course of the week and the trip seemed to be overshadowed by a constant fear of whether we'd get this bug. There were notices around the hotel admittedly, but in response to what Claremont said previously about putting notifications in all guest bedrooms I did not receive one in my room, and neither did another family member who came with us. I feel that the outbreak was not handled appropriately and guests were not fully informed about the severity of the bug, as 6 of our party of 17 have now had the virus so far. We usually enjoy our stay at Claremont but the atmosphere around the hotel , listening to other guests who all seemed to have had some form of the virus and witnessing staff members wearing masks covering their mouths and rubber gloves as they worked made the holiday a not so positive experience.

Dear Bubblewrap4

So sorry to hear that members of your party were ill during your stay with us last week.

It was obviously a difficult week for the staff, who did their best to ensure that those guests who weren't ill had a good stay.

Unfortunately we have no control whatsoever over the onset of illness due to a virus in the hotel. This kind of virus is prevalent all over the country at this time of year and is prone to spreading quickly in places such as hospitals, schools and hotels where there are numerous people in close proximity.

We do, however have strict procedures in place in the case of any occurrence, including extensive cleaning procedures which follow the advice of the environmental health department.

You have used the Claremont before and therefore know the level of service and accommodation we normally provide and that this is not a regular situation.

We hope you will visit us again sometime.

Regards

Sally Carpenito

We have stayed at the claremont hotel for over 30 years along with family and numerous friends and neighbours who we have recommended the hotel as being excellent value for money and entertainment. We arrived as a family of 13 on Sunday 12th Feb, and on Monday evening several members of my family had gone down with the virus including 2 small children. They were very ill all the rest of the week and not fit to travel home. This was extremely upsetting for me as their grandma. We decided they were fit on Thursday to travel home and got a refund for 1 night back. This incident will not put me off going back to the Claremont indeed we have booked May and November this year. The entertainment and food is excellent value for money, and I would advise if you have any sign of a virus you contact the hotel, and don,t go. This would save a lot of heartache for staff and visitors. I am sure the management would be very cooperative if somebody decided not to go in these circumstances.

Just back from a weeks stay. The staff were first class we had a problem with a small room due to mobility issues but we were moved by porters to another room which was a lot larger. The meals and service were first class nothing was too much for them

YES there was a virus but this was not the hotels fault and advice was given when asked. My husband fell in early Wednesday morning and due to our own circumstances we decided to travel home. We were offered a refund for the days not taken we didnt need to ask.

We will be going back again very soon.
