New Hacketts Hotel

We recently stayed at this hotel for a family party, We only paid £25 each for bed and breakfast, and to be honest we weren't really expecting too much for the price. We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms we had, they were very clean, comfortable and of a reasonable size. Most of the rooms we had looked like they had been recently refurbished. There wasn't a hair dryer so make sure you take your own. All the rooms we had were quiet and we were all able to sleep well with the exception of one who's bedroom was over the dance floor and the music was quite load so if your looking for an early night make sure you ask for a room away from there.

They had the usual bingo and evening entertainment if you wanted it. For the size of hotel they could do with a few comfortable sofas dotted around for people to relax on as there were only bar stools and chairs. and a quiet relaxing area away from the evening entertainment.

The full English breakfast was good and served quite quickly and you could order what you like. My only negative comment with breakfast is they could do with a menu to choose from. Many people were unaware they could change the item selection from a standard full breakfast. But hey ho it was only £25. We had two evening meals at the hotel, 3 courses for £5, for the price it was ok, Just don't expect too much. There were quite a lot of us in our group but they managed to accommodate our party so we could all sit together in the restaurant. The restaurant was nicely decorated but could do with some air conditioning as it was a little too warm.

We were able to use the private function room for the party, although it had its own bar, sadly it wasn't open and we had to keep using the public bar. The hotel provided the food for the party which was a hot buffet, sadly they insisted we had the food served at 7pm which may have suited their staffing purposes but was far too early for us. Some of our guests hadn't arrived by then and missed out on the food, including the Birthday Girl. They also ran out of beer and several other drinks which was somewhat disappointing for a party and I'm assuming they lost a fair bit of revenue that night. All the staff were great, very helpful and accommodating and couldn't do enough for you, with the exception of the manager who we all thought was quite rude and flippant. I don't think he's cut out for a career in hospitality. All in all for £25 and £5 for a dinner it was good value hotel

Room Tip: Avoid rooms immediately above the dance floor..

Dear Cath

Many thanks for your kind comments regarding the Value for money service that we do provide here at New Hacketts Hotel.

Our staff do work hard and do go out of their way to ensure you are catered for.

We are awfully sorry that one of your party was inconvenienced by the entertainment in the main bar. We are limited for family rooms and unfortunately maybe on this instance this could not be avoided owing to the requirement for one of our larger rooms. We do have hair dryers at the reception for free use, I am sorry that you were not aware of this.

We do appreciate your feedback with regards to breakfast menus and will work on implementing this for the future.

Our sincere apologies with your comments about your party, and running out of beverage. I can assure you this was a rare occurrence and I do recall we did have an issue with a delivery which was out of our control and unfortunately on a busy weekend.

Please do consider us should you return to Blackpool in the near future. We will give you a complimentary upgrade on your room, and ensure that you are allocated accordingly away from the cabaret room.

Assuring you of our best attention at all times.

Regards

Suzanne

Hotel was great value for money but the smell in the bar/seating area was awful like cats urine and a load of guests all saying same. Entertainment was great but the thing that totally let the hotel down were the staff so so rude, the manager has no people skills what so ever doesnt know how to smile and the new member of staff only been at hotel 3 week also a,manager is the rudest ever has no time for anyone and obviously doesnt like the Scottish as was heard by myself talking about them walking from bar. The kitchen staff were also extremy rude and caused aguments with other guests. Out of the 3 nights, there was only one barman that was great to deal with have a laugh feel sorry for him working there tp be honest. I would never go back or recommend to anyone.

Arrived for a 1 night stay at New Hacketts to be told they have over booked.
I booked online so i had confirmation however the 2 people on reception were not very helpful at all in this situation and was not apologetic that they could not accommodate us even though we had traveled 3 hours with a 2 year old.

They both looked at each other and neither of them would advise me on what to do they just said that there is nothing they can do.

Luckily we had booked through booking.com so we was relocated to another hotel with the cost of an extra £98!

I will return to Blackpool but defiantly not to New Hacketts Hotel where the customer service is the worst i have experienced!

Arrived 24th July with National Holidays, room 210 was simply but adequate. Very clean and comfortable. Maids were pleasant and helpful, reception staff and manager worked hard to make our stay very pleasant. Food was plentifull and varied, breakfasts were delicious! Our waitress was great and all the staff work very hard. One man said he worked for trip advisor and never stopped complaining all week, even moaning to passengers on the number 1 bus and anyone else who would listen, but I have to ask where else could you have 5 days room and board and transport to take you there and back as well as a free trip up blackpool tower all for £128.00? A big thank you to all at New Hackets.
Next time we come we would love a room with a bath if possible. Andy and Julie, Chesterfield.

Room Tip: I was told all the 500 rooms have been done up.

As you say, for the bargain price you pay you do get fantastic hospitality and cuisine when visiting us here at New Hacketts.

It is lovely to read your comments, and we look forward to welcoming you again in the near future.

Please do call us at your earliest convenience when you have your dates and request a room with bath, as most rooms do have showers.

Great trip to Blackpool it was a fleeting visit to see the sights. We only stayed for one night, but in arrival we were greeted by Anne on reception who really went above and beyond to make us feel welcome, thank you Anne! Glad we arrived when we did as other staff were not so attentive ( they were polite, just didn't go that extra mile). The price we paid I feel was more than fair. The room was very clean, and newly refurbished. We were on the third floor with a sea view . I would highly recommend, the only noise came from the occasional tram, which didn't disturb over night. Oh and some noise from room next door, but again didn't disturb over night.
This hotel has excellent links on the tram and we paid £5 for 24hrs unlimited travel.
