We recently stayed at this hotel for a family party, We only paid £25 each for bed and breakfast, and to be honest we weren't really expecting too much for the price. We were pleasantly surprised with the rooms we had, they were very clean, comfortable and of a reasonable size. Most of the rooms we had looked like they had been recently refurbished. There wasn't a hair dryer so make sure you take your own. All the rooms we had were quiet and we were all able to sleep well with the exception of one who's bedroom was over the dance floor and the music was quite load so if your looking for an early night make sure you ask for a room away from there.
They had the usual bingo and evening entertainment if you wanted it. For the size of hotel they could do with a few comfortable sofas dotted around for people to relax on as there were only bar stools and chairs. and a quiet relaxing area away from the evening entertainment.
The full English breakfast was good and served quite quickly and you could order what you like. My only negative comment with breakfast is they could do with a menu to choose from. Many people were unaware they could change the item selection from a standard full breakfast. But hey ho it was only £25. We had two evening meals at the hotel, 3 courses for £5, for the price it was ok, Just don't expect too much. There were quite a lot of us in our group but they managed to accommodate our party so we could all sit together in the restaurant. The restaurant was nicely decorated but could do with some air conditioning as it was a little too warm.
We were able to use the private function room for the party, although it had its own bar, sadly it wasn't open and we had to keep using the public bar. The hotel provided the food for the party which was a hot buffet, sadly they insisted we had the food served at 7pm which may have suited their staffing purposes but was far too early for us. Some of our guests hadn't arrived by then and missed out on the food, including the Birthday Girl. They also ran out of beer and several other drinks which was somewhat disappointing for a party and I'm assuming they lost a fair bit of revenue that night. All the staff were great, very helpful and accommodating and couldn't do enough for you, with the exception of the manager who we all thought was quite rude and flippant. I don't think he's cut out for a career in hospitality. All in all for £25 and £5 for a dinner it was good value hotel
