“Excellent place to stay”
Reviewed 30 December 2011

Stayed at this PI for four days over Christmas whilst visiting the rellies. Clean & comfortable rooms and excellent staff. Reasonable price for the stay, good selection of channels on the TV. Room was a bit warm even with the heat off? Wish they would do something about the kids running up and down the corridor - great exercise and gets them out of the parents way but a real pain for the poor buggers trying to chill in the rooms!

Ate in the restuarant once (dinner). Service and food were okay - nothing to shout about (people waiting and uncleared tables) but overall worth the money (two courses & £40 for three of us).

Faulty hair dryer and no hot water for shower. This was the same problem on another branch we stayed at in leicester-Braunstone. The whole hotel had no heating and hot water.

No frills but good value if you book when offers are on. Beds are firm but very comfy. No seating area other than a single chair by the dressing table which is a shame. The TV has a good selection of channels if you need them. The hotel is conveniently located for the motorway but to get into Blackpool central you need a car as there is no nearby public transport.

Standard premier inn, nice and clean inside but the heat (we stayed in July) was absolutley unbearable, the only thing provided to combat the heat was to open window (right next to a motorway) and a table fan(which made an absolute racket all night) We had a 4 month old baby with us and were very worried about baby getting to hot,our 4 day break to Blackpool was ruined due to lack of sleep!

We have stayed at a couple of Premier Inns and knew what to expect and was very pleased to discover that our expectations were met. We booked the hotel on the Premier Inn website for £29 per room. We booked this particular hotel so we could take our children to the last night of the illuminations and enjoy all Blackpool has to offer and we brought my parents as a treat. As we have discovered with Premier Inns, it was easy to locate being just off the M55 and would be a small taxi ride from the main attractions. Free parking was available. Upon check in we encountered pleasant and efficient receptionists and, although the reception was very small, it was clean and functional. As I was taking my (very desperate) little girl to the toilet, the receptionist checked in my husband, gave him the keys to both rooms and then gave me all the information as to the whereabouts of the room. She then remembered us, assisted my Mum and Dad and showed exceptional professionalism. The rooms were opposite to each other and we both had family rooms. The rooms facing the car park do appear to be a little larger than the rooms on the opposite side. Clean rooms awaited us, complete with bath and shower and a clean cot for our baby. We went for our evening meal at the attached pub at 9pm and fell in love with the décor therein. As the name suggests (the Outside Inn) my daughter was delighted to find trees, a bridge over the 'river' and little nooks and cranny's in 'the woods'. She was especially pleased with the starts on the ceiling! The member of staff that 'greeted' us was impolite and rude and not happy to have new guests in it would seem however, that was the only problem we encountered. We all had the Sunday roast (£6.50 per meal although slightly smaller portions available as 2 for £10) and we enjoyed it. It did appear to have been left under a hot plate for a while before it came to us but, as I said, it wasn't very expensive so we weren't too bothered and it was a large portion. We enjoyed a good nights sleep and then went for breakfast back in 'The Outside Inn'. The staff were friendly and helpful and there was a wide variety of choice. When the waitress took our cooked order, we could order as much as we wanted of whatever we wanted which delighted my baby son!! All in all, a lovely nights sleep, a lovely hotel and we will come back there each and every visit to Blackpool from now on!

Room Tip: Rooms on the car park side are slightly larger.
