I want to start off by saying that without a doubt the customer service at The Rose was exemplary. Everyone was so nice and as we were a bride and groom not only were we upgraded for free... but we were given a free bottle of wine and a beer!
Alas, our upgraded room made us worry as to the quality of the rest of the hotel. The room itself was lovely, great view and insanely spacious; but the bed...
The bed stood a foot of the ground at best, had more springs than a trampoline and was missing 4 prongs underneath. This led to having to the bed struggling with the strain of simply sitting in one spot of the bed or allowing any kind of exuberance. In fact I found myself waking up at 4am with the entire base of the bed collapsed!
Alas our troubles did not stop there... for our upgraded room with the lovely view was at the very top of the hotel. Normally this would not be a problem but the lift was broken and so we found ourselves climbing four flights of stairs, a task much more trying for a young bride in a wedding dress.
(Did not try the spa... couldn’t stand the idea of facing the stairs any more than necessary)More
