I didn't do a white glove inspection if the room but it seemed fairly clean. Most disappointing was paying £120 for 3 nights bed only through booking.com (not too bad I know), then being told if I wanted to use the pool which is advertised it was another £5! Also I would have to wait an hour whilst it was 'switched on'?? There was a little sign in reception too saying 'spa pool out of use till further notice'.
None of this is stated when booking, only that pamper treatments are at extra cost which is understandable, not use of the pool! What kind of a hotel charges residents extra to use the pool??
The room itself was creaky and depressing, the tv looked like a sat nav hanging in the corner, no teaspoons with tea/coffee facilities, my view was disgusting, creaky floorboards throughout, the room numbers are confusing and the place seemed deserted.
I was offered to stay at friends and family when visiting as I used to live in the area but I booked this hotel based on the bar and the pool and spa facilities. I never used either in 3 days because I refuse to pay £5 to use the pool and there wasn't a soul in the bar! £120 wasted. Cheers, won't be staying here again!More
