“Fantastic Corporate Weekend”
Reviewed 26 September 2011

I was lucky enough to be staying at Ellerthwaite Lodge for the weekend as part of a corporate incentive weekend. I can't thank the staff enough for looking after us so well. Nothing was too much trouble for them, and they did everything possible to ensure the weekend went without a hitch. I was lucky enough to see most of the bedrooms, and every one of them was superb - clean, beautifully decorated and inviting with every amenity you would expect from a 4* hotel. Many thanks to Al, Bill & the team. I will definitely be recommending this to family, friends and colleagues.

Room Tip: Loved the four poster beds

My husband and I stayed two nights in this lodge in Windermere. It was close to the shops in town but a 20 minute walk downhill to the actual lake, it was fine going downhill but back up was a bit of a treck. Most people go to the lakes to go on walks but we were only in the area for 2 nights and we wanted to relax. I highly recommend a boatrip across the lake from Bowness to the other towns on the lake and there are various options for those who want to walk or those just after a cruise. When the sun is out this place is glorious but we only got half a sunny day. The Lodge itself has been refurbished recently so is nice inside. We had a room in the attic but unfortunately did not have a view of the lake. Breakfast was delicious and fresh although like most B&B's they stop serving at 9.30am so you have to wake up early or you miss it. 9.30 os early for me on holiday. Overall we were pleased with our choice and had a nice stay, it wasnt amazing but it was nice enough..

We found Ellerthwaite Lodge by chance after a long journey from West Sussex. The owner greeted us and made us feel extremely welcome! We occupied 2 rooms there as although they were full, it was made possible for us to stay there over three nights with
little fuss, they even moved our luggage whilst we were out. Both rooms were en suite, so clean and comfortable with great beds. I think maybe there are 18 rooms which I am sure will all be to the same high standards. The team without exception were welcoming and friendly and the breakfast included was on a par if not better than many Hilton hotels that we have stayed in. The Lodge is situated a mile or so from Windemere lake and the village it is in, is a great place to eat - try the seafood restaurant across the way - Hooked - it was great. We shall certainly return to the Lakes if only to stay at Ellerthwaite Logde again. Great stay!

Arrived early, but we were able to leave our bags at the hotel,so we could look around without lugging them with us. When we did check in there was a very friendly lady there who showed us to our room and went out of her way to help us with anything we needed but she wasn't "in your face".
The room was spotless, the heating in the room was on, but was easy to turn off, as I don't feel the cold.
Got a fan from reception without a problem.
Breakfast was very good on both days, wish the breakfast times would be a little longer it's 8.30-9.30 and everyone seems to arrive at the same time, but saying that the food was very good.
Very comfortable beds.

Room Tip: Stayed in room 4 which i think is norm a twin room so we had the two single beds together which made...
