You could be forgiven for mistaking this charming B&B with that of the home of a favourite relative such is the warmth of the greeting you receive from Janet the proprietor.
Boasting just 3 double rooms, this wonderfully individual property could hardly be better placed for Windermere and surrounding areas being barely a ten minute stroll from the bars, shops and restaurants of Windermere village and around 5 minutes drive from Bowness and the lake shore
Three individually themed rooms over 2 floors provide homely and relaxing accommodation that will appeal to any traveller looking for a change from the faceless corporate magnolia of chain hotels.
Minimalist it is not.
The decorations are individual and carefully chosen to compliment the rooms and complete the homely feeling. There is no mistaking the time, effort and love that has been invested.
The generous bathrooms boast wonderfully powerful showers and double sized enclosures guaranteed to wake the weariest of travellers from their slumbers that’s if the unthinkable happens and the thought of the individually prepared breakfast made from locally sourced ingredients fails to do so.
Janet is the perfect host and Greystone Cottage the perfect getaway accommodation.
A match made in Heaven (well Windermere really but you get my drift!)

We have just returned home after another wonderful few nights at Greystone Cottage and really can't recommend this B&B enough. We always love every single minute we are there and always look forward to seeing Janet again! She is absolutely amazing, the loveliest person you could meet, so warm and welcoming, and Greystone Cottage is perfect in every way for a place to relax when staying in the Lake District. Thank you again Janet, we look forward to coming back soon - we are missing your breakfasts already!

Just spent our 3rd visit with Janet at Greystone Cottage, what is there left to say other than its the best. If you want to be made to feel welcome by a lovely lady running a warm, friendly and reasonably priced B&B then this is the place for you. The room we stayed in was immaculate and well provisioned with all the things required for a wonderfully relaxed break. I wouldn't stay anywhere else when visiting The Lakes. Thanks again Janet, already looking forward to staying again.

We have just had another great stay with Janet & Tony. Nothing is too much trouble.
Vegetarian breakfasts that she gives us each morning are superb- certainly fits you up for a great days walking in the district.

2nd time staying here. Stayed in the pink room last time so we thought we'd try the larger blue room this time. We weren't disappointed at all! There's not much more we can add this time that we didn't say in our previous review. Janet is an excellent hostess, very easy to get along with, and it was a pleasure to stay under her roof again. We'll be back again sometime!
