Double room with king sized bed bathroom with bath and shower, all facilities very clean. Restaurant well serviced by very attentive staff, especially Clare Ross who just never stands still and can almost read ones' mind. Lovely indoor swimming pool too. Local position to town of Penrith and local shops etc. The blue painted exterior doesn't look too good but PLEASE do not be put off by it, the inside is just brilliant.

Room Tip: Rooms away from the road are best for quieter sleeping

Stayed here overnight, had the opportunity to use the pool, sauna, stream and jacuzzi. Very clean area. Hot and cold drinks available. The use of bath robes in the bedroom.
The room was clean, bed comfy with great pillows. Lovely tea tray. Small fridge in the room with complimentary water. Clean bathroom.
Breakfast was nice with a good selection. Although the post thanks ordered arrived after eating breakfast, I think this was due to staff been really busy.
Would stop again.

This weekend was my first weekend away since my daughter has finished treatment for cancer. I met with other parents from a support group that I have never met before. The hotel was so lovely and accommodating. The staff have all been incredibly friendly and helpful. The hotel is an easy 5-10 mins walk from the train station ( turn right ) and keep going until you see the blue building on the opposite side of the road from the station. Town was an easy walk to the town ( turn left out of the station) Dressing gown and slippers were provided for easy access to use the pool and spa facilities. ( towns provided for the pool) A fridge and complimentary water was provided in the rooms as well as tea and coffee making facilities, a hair dryer and iron and ironing board. The beds were also comfy. The only slight niggle was a lack of plug sockets and charging points. There were only 2 sockets in the room and to use these meant unplugging the tv and kettle. We ate in the restaurant for breakfast and dinner and the food was delicious. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to relax and unwind.

Stayed for a couple of nights while attending a business conference which was also held in the hotel. Outside appearance is deceptive, the pale blue paint job isn’t exactly modern or particularly attractive and the car park is rather tight. On entry, however, the lobby is very welcoming with high vaulted ceilings and a large open fire. Rooms are comfortable if not huge, and the bathroom was/is dated but clean - good shower pressure, though. Food is very good, I recommend the Chefs Table for starter and the menu is varied and seasonal. Friendly staff round off an enjoyable experience. NB I didn’t use any of the spa/gym facilities so cannot comment on the quality.

I am a regular visitor to the North lakes and have seen the hotel and spa make small improvements over the years (except for the exterior colour!) and it continues to be one of the best locations for both business and pleasure use.

Rooms have been upgraded with some nice additional touches along with premium products such as ESPA and nice touches such as Herdy mugs.

Spa and Gym is small but more than adequate and we still managed to get into nightly classes.

Restaurant atmosphere is good for both meals and breakfast.

The team there remain very helpful in particular at breakfast where the personal service is not the normal any more.

Room 124 was mine.

If there was one thing that could improve it would be check in and check out - if you arrive in a group it is a bit slow.

Overall - we will be back and it still beats Cottons for atmosphere and service
