Our first visit to Thornthwaite Grange, and we couldn't have had more friendly and helpful hosts. The accommodation was spacious and very comfortable, breakfasts were all that you could want, and the relaxed atmosphere led to easy conversations with other guests. A thoroughly enjoyable stay - I hope we can get back someday.

This was our second visit to Thornthwaite Grange. Once again, we had a wonderful time. Our hosts could not be more welcoming and the B&B is a real gem: spacious, warm and replete with all the luxuries you could possibly wish for. It’s also been a delight to discover this hidden part of the lakes.

Thank you for this very nice review.
We feel very fortunate to have found our dream home back in 2011, and have never regretted for one moment the decision to live here rather than the more commercialised areas of the Lake District.
We do hope you will be visiting us again in the near future.

One of the Best B&Bs ever. Great food (inc freshly made fruit salad), great welcome and friendly hosts, good quality rooms and grounds, very hillwalking friendly too. Could not rate higher. Planning our next trip soon

Room Tip: great food, healthy options, welcoming, friendly, good rooms

Thornthwaite Grange holds many happy memories as I came here often as a child and now I am bringing my Children here to create some new memories. Clive and Sue made us feel so welcome (he even gave me his old walking boots to save my feet from blisters!)we are already planning our third trip back. Thornthwaite Grange is in the ideal location as it's close enough to Keswick to drive there in five minutes but remote enough to really relax.

Room Tip: Top Floor is ideal for families

Sue and I are naturally delighted that you think of Thornthwaite Grange as your "favourite place". Yes, we are very lucky. We never tire of that early-morning view of the surrounding mountains, even when you are looking at them through the rain. Weather has not been great for the extra days your mum has stayed, but she has "caught" the Cumbrian spirit - ignore the weather and get out there!!
See you again very soon, we hope.
