The location is great, Keswick centre was a 10 minuite walk. The bungalow was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. Lots of lovely country walks from the bungalow including High Seat, Castlerigg Stone Circle and a walk around Derwant Water. It was a short drive to the Blencathra Centre from where my husband and friend enjoyed the challenge of walking to the peak and fishing in the tarn. Lots of nice places to eat including the Mary Mount Hotel on the banks of the lake, who accepted us with muddy boots. A lovely week, I'm sure we'll be back.
This was an excellent base in Keswick,10 min walk from the town centre with lovely views to Skiddaw,Latrigg & Blencathra....the bungalow was well equipped & cosy...arrived to find that tea, coffee, sugar, milk & biscuits had been provided which was very welcome.Read on previous reviews that a washing machine would have been more appreciated than a dishwasher..in my opinion, you can take the dirty laundry home with you but not the dirty dishes !! Also, brilliant shower !! It helped with restricted luggage that towels were provided...no complaints
Well equipped 2 bed, bungalow a short walk (10 mins) from Keswick.
Fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher (so no need to pack the marigolds). Electric oven & hobs.
Twin & double bedrooms with comfortable beds. Twin room is at back of house with (partial) mountain view - Blencathra I think? Double room is at front in a smaller room, which sadly feels cramped due to (IMO unneccesary) wardrobe & dressing table.
Well appointed front room/dinner - two comfy sofas, reasonably sized TV & dining table + chairs. Decent Wi-Fi connection.
Garage if you need to store bikes, etc.
Would definitely consider staying here again.
Would rate as 5* if double less cramped (could replace both wardrobe & dressing table with a chest of drawers & wall hung mirror?) and there was a washing machine.
