My wife and I had a lovely Easter weekend at this vet dog friendly hotel. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful and had a stock of dog biscuits for the dogs. Dogs are allowed In the bedrooms and the conservatory. The conservatory is warm and an excellent place to sit with a drink and watch the world go by as it looks directly onto market square.
We had a room on the forth floor at the front of the hotel which was lovely with nice decor but not ideal with two dogs... a few trips up and down 4 flights of stairs and through the hotel to the rear at night time to ensure the dogs could relieve themselves wasn’t ideal! The nearest park , Hope Park, is only about 500m away and easy to find.
There’s a good selection for breakfast. We did not have dinner here so can’t comment on that.
There are limited free car parking spaces but for 2 pounds daily the hotel can provide a pass for the council car park directly behind the hotel.
I would definitely stay here again but would ask for a room at the back of the hotel next time as the live music front he Golden Lion across market square was extremely loud and the secondary double glazing kept out zero noise! We persevered until the noise finally stopped at ten past midnight... then we had 20 minutes of raised drunken voices to contend with!
All in all a great stay.

Although an owner of a large dog we were a little concerned that a dog friendly hotel maybe a little “doggy” with the odd stray dog hair and a occasional whiff of wet dog... how wrong we were! The room (16)was spotless, the common areas again very clean, but what really made this stay special were the staff, they were polite, friendly and professional, both to ourselves and pet, if we do go to Keswick again which we hopefully will, we will try to book here. A great place, excellent middle of everything location and exceptional customer care. Fab time had by us all.

Just had a weekend walking in Keswick. We called in Friday night for a drink great atmosphere with a singer in the bar.
Sunday early evening we called in for a meal after a long walk. Still in our hiking gear we were welcomed by some great staff very helpful and attentive.
We sat in the conservatory ordered food and drinks. The Meal was good we ordered the daily roast special. Always have a great time in the Skiddaw

A great couple of days away in a hotel with very friendly staff. Our room was lovely and clean. Plenty of hot water and toiletries. Meals were very nice and hot. It was nice sitting in the conservatory watching the world go by. We parked in the main car park which is just behind the hotel for £2 per night. We would return to skiddaw hotel for another break hopefully when the weather is warmer and we can explore more.
