“Lovely stay”
Reviewed 24 June 2018 for a stay in June 2018

Had a lovely stay at the cottage, Mrs A was a very nice lady who was always on hand if required, we requested to spend a little time with the lambs, ducklings, chickens etc and even held one of the cute ducklings, great location inbetween Keswick centre and cockermouth. Great spot to go on walks, even walked up the road across the way and experienced a beautiful view. The house was spacious and had everything you needed and there was a pub 2 mins walk away. Very peaceful village for a very relaxing stay

“Ideal for families - cosy, well equipped, good location”
Reviewed 11 November 2017 for a stay in October 2017

Stayed late Oct 2017....we are family with 3 children early teens. The cottage is very well equipped... we all found the wifi worked perfect when needed, log burner and plenty of wood was great.. even toasted marshmallows and put on some a movie (DVD player and some DVD selection). Athough we didn't make use of the tv channels... there did seem alot choice...

Most importantly the place was warm.. little luxuries like heated towel rails in the bathrooms... hot water whenever needed...and in the kitchen everthing and more... essentials if you had forgotten anytying.. and not just the usual 6 or so cups but 20 or so cups... 20 or so glasses etc...dishwasher... although it is not modern decor, it is cosy/wood beams/old fashioned decor yet there is everything we wanted...and more

we usually spent the days out... and although we used the car nothing seemed too far (every journey less than 15 mins and gorgeous scenery) and I am sure you could walk out from the cottage as I did head out for a 30 minute jog in the each morning.. crisp autumnal mornings..beautiful views just 2 minutes walk over the wooden bridge...

We stayed Mon-Friday and we would head back to this very cosy cottage for dinner... perfect.. owner also very pleasant, friendly and there if needed....

there is a very large bedroom upstairs with a double and two singles... the kids loved it... having a den and bathroom all to themselves... it worked well... in fact I think they even had conversations instead of faces stuck to screens!

the other double room is downstairs along with a small bunkbed room... there is no toilet downstairs but two lovely big bathrooms upstairs...

in brief we would love to return and are thinking about hiring cottage 1 and 2 for and extended family get together...

I would recommend this cottage (we stayed in number 2).... for older families and younger families (ducks/stream/footy goals on village green)

Hi Martin family, Thank you for your lengthy explicit review! I am pleased you had a good holiday and enjoyed the cottage and amenities, and are considering returning. That would be great. It is on our winter list to update the décor in Brook House 2 , and has actually been discussed over the past month or so with my girls. It has been booked up solidly all year, we are still waiting for a break in bookings to get on with it!
Look forward to meeting you all again. Mrs T.

“Idyllic!”
Reviewed 29 September 2017 for a stay in September 2017

Beautiful farmhouse with everything you need. Wood burner worked a treat. The stream outside with the delightful ducks was the icing on the cake and there were plenty of lovely walks from the door and a little shop within walking distance provided any forgotten basics like milk and bread. It is an ideal house for a family with lots of space, 3 bathrooms and a lovely big kitchen diner with a large kitchen table. Alison is always on hand making sure you have everything you need and providing recommendations of places to visit etc. We loved Askham Hall near Penrith and enjoyed the town of Cockermouth which is less touristy than the towns further south. We highly recommend this place and hope to return.

“Cosy, well-equipped & welcoming cottage”

We had a lovely 2 week stay at Brook Cottage 2. It is spacious & welcoming. It has been thoughtfully equipped, with more than enough crockery, cutlery and kitchen utensils for those who don't wash up after every meal ! The overall standard of the property is first-rate - to your credit Mrs A. The ducks arrive on schedule too

Walk from the cottage to Skiddaw, or just go around the corner to the local pub !
Highly recommended
