Visited this restaurant for Sunday lunch. Informed that booking was essential however restaurant was not busy! We had Beef and Chicken Sunday lunch, portion size small however tasty. Food price high but as expected for onsite restaurant. Restaurant area lovely and staff very pleasant. Would probably return when staying at Keswick Reach.

Many thanks for your review and kind comments. We would always advise booking to avoid any disappointment. However, it seems you were lucky to have dined at a quieter time as tables can often book up quite quickly. We look forward to welcoming you back to Copper Fells next time!

We had dinner here twice whilst staying at Keswick Reach. Not a large variety but a good variety and generous portions.

Stayed at the Keswick Reach Lodge Retreat and had dinner in the Copper Fells Restaurant. Good food and excellent service but table layout could be better to cater for parties of 4. Good selection on menu but crayfish was not available on nights we were there, Overall well worth a visit.

Thank you for your review of the Copper Fells Bar & Restaurant.

The Food & Beverage team are delighted that you enjoyed your experience. Thank you for your understanding regarding the crayfish, our suppliers were unable to send any for a few days, but this is a fresh product and so is sometimes subject to availability.

We very much hope that you enjoyed your stay at Keswick Reach.

Advised to book as gets busy. So did. After travelling for a few hours thought lets keep it simple and eat on site. Was asked if any special occasion. Yes. Anniversary.
Arrived promptly at designated time and shown to table. Mock rose petals and happy anniversary sprinkles on table all very nice and topped with a complimentary bottle of fizz.
All very pleasing.
Drinks and food order placed. Drinks arrived pronto tonto. Food did not.
Was I in a rush? No. Did I have any where to go? No.
But, for what was ordered, I felt it took a disproportionately long time for the food to arrive.
Portion size was filling and nicely presented. But the quality was not there.

Given everything else on the Keswick Reach site (see other review) is spot on, this area requires some work to come up to spec.

Price is always a contentious issue when eating on site so have not commented on that aspect. But from a quality perspective, Copper fells Restaurant, need to up their game.

Would I stay at Keswick reach again? Yes.
Would I eat at Copper Fells? No.

Just arrived back at our lodge after a meal at the Copper Fells restaurant.

On arrival we were taken straight to our table and ordered our drinks.

For starter we ordered crab and coriander cake and the garlic ciabatta. Both of which were very nice, this made us look forward to our main meals.

For our main meals we ordered the 10oz rump steak and the Thai green curry with chicken.

Thai green curry was full of onions, very bland and could not be compared to a Thai green curry. I understand it’s not a Thai restaurant and did not expect that quality but at least something that resembled a Thai green curry. I’ve made better at home with a Thai green curry paste.

The steak was cooked perfectly but left a very strange taste in the mouth, maybe from the herbs in the butter? Chunky chips with the steak were outstanding perfectly cooked.

After spending £50 on food and being very disappointed we just wanted to get back to our lodge.

I did not complain to the staff.

I’ve never been that disappointed that I’ve had to complain in a restaurant, but now I wish I had raised my concerns.

I must say the site and lodges are amazing a shame the restaurant isn’t up to that standard.
