Very friendly staff, lovely location and lodges, perfect for you and your dog lots of lovely walks and scenery, and we were blessed with lovely weather, if I had any criticism's I would say the lodges can get very hot but apart from that a great week away.

Have stayed at Thanet Well Lodge in the past and this lived up to the same standards. Lovely lodge with all mod-cons, everything in perfect condition. Great place for the dog, the decking area is gated off so he could roam and dog friendly bar area for meals. Staff all really pleasant and happy. Only thing that let it down for us was the Sunday menu in the restaurant, there was no vegetarian option available, even the mac and cheese had bacon in. I was initially told to chose either linguini or jacket potato from the kids menu which isn't really good enough. Maya then gave me the option of having a pizza from the lunch menu, and Claire the waitress was very helpful and pleasant. All in all good stay - thank you

Room Tip: Would ideally want a lodge on the outskirts of the site and not in the middle

Maya and Claire from the restaurant pass on their thanks for your kind words. Our chefs are always more than happy to adapt the menu wherever possible and I'm pleased to hear that they were able to accommodate you on this occasion. We are also pleased that the pooch enjoyed his stay! With thanks from all of the team.

We stayed in the Walpole Select lodge at the Keswick Reach Retreat for a long weekend (Friday-Monday). I'll start off by saying that the marketing team need to brush up on their photography because the lodge was much much nicer that we expected.
When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly receptionist and a complimentary glass of champagne. We were told that there were issues with a few of the Lodges in our part of the site and that the tv wasn't working. We were given a DVD player and a full bottle of champagne which we felt was more than enough as we weren't coming to the lakes to watch tv anyway!!
When we got inside the lodge we were amazed. A classy, open plan kitchen and living area which quite frankly I'd be more than happy to live in every day.
The bedroom was also nice with a comfy king size bed and plenty of room for clothes.
The real deal winner however was the bathroom. A huge walk in shower, an even bigger bath and two sinks which the other half was over the moon about. Wonder why...
The retreat is in a great location and most of the lakes and villages are easily accessible by car within half an hour.
We have made a promise to return back within the year for another lovely little weekend away.

Thank you for your five star review. We are pleased that the lodge exceeded your holiday expectations and that you enjoyed your long weekend here (despite the niggle with the lodge TVs). We certainly do look forward to your return visit before the end of the year!

We thought we knew what lodges were, but were floored by how excellent the lodge was (45, Wainright Select). The lodge is really spacious, spotless and well-equipped. The view was amazing, and the area teems with wildlife - swallows, linnets, wagtails, rabbits, goldfinches. We ate in Copper Fells and found the food good, although it is a bit expensive. The bar was good, and the small shop was useful. The site is handy for Keswick and attractions like the Lakes Distillery, Mirehouse, and Dodds Wood Osprey project. We definitely recommend Keswick Reach and will be back. Excellent experience and excellent value for money.
