What a super cottage. It was spotlessly clean on arrival, has everything you could need, a real home from home. Recently refurbished so very well decorated and modern. Very cold while we were the, but the heating was more than adequate. It is in a perfect location for Keswick, literally a 30 second walk to all the shops and pubs that Keswick has to offer. It is next to the car park so no views, but that wasn't important to us. Another reviewer mentioned noise, but we weren't disturbed at all. Even the weather was kind to us, so all in all a fab weekend in a lovely cottage, in our favorite location. Would definitely recommend.
Stayed for a week in June. The location of Agathi is fantastic, its nice to park the car and not have to move it !
Agathi is well equipped and the upstairs lounge is light and airy.
Nice to have a seating area outside to use, if the weather permits it !!
Agathi is located right in the middle of Keswick, and I mean right in the middle. It takes about 30 seconds to get to the market from the front door. This makes the location of this property quite exceptional. It is very well furnished - it is modern and comfortable, and the amenities are good. The only down side to the location and characteristics of this property are that it does not have double glazing. This causes problems because, due to its location, which is close to a number of pubs, you will have to hear bin lorries early on most mornings. You don't tend to get late night noise, but if you are not awake by 7, it is likely you will be thanks to the lorries! Therefore, if you are looking for a cottage which gives you the peace and quiet associated with the Lake District, I would suggest looking at other cottages. If you are looking for an incredibly convenient location, this is the cottage for you.
We were able to go on a number of excellent walks from our front door - to the Castlerigg Stone Circle and around Derwent Water for example, and we have had some excellent meals nearby.
We really did have a very nice, comfortable stay.
My wife & I had a lovely week stay in Agathi, which is a very warm, quiet & comfortable accommodation. It has all the mod cons required for a home from home experience. Agathi is perfectly located behind the main square in Keswick which meant we could park the car up for the week & enjoy all the bars, restaurant's & shops round the corner. The supermarket up the road was great & the breakfast baps from the van near by came in really handy on a few occasions. I would recommend using the buses which leave opposite Booths for some great site seeing trips.
