We stayed overnight. The accommodation was fine; the room huge (perfect for families), we had a giant bed and 2 singles, free tea and coffee making facilities. But the jewel in the crown was the food in in the main Inn. The menu offered a great selection and we noticed that the specials today were different from last night - so they really were special! That is unusual in my experience. Finally, the staff were amazing, nothing was too much trouble and we were made to feel so welcome. We are coming back to this area in April and will definitely visit the Station Inn again. Thank you for looking after us.

Recently went for lunch but have been several times before. Fish and chips is superb with huge chips, great choice of deserts which the banoffee pie is the best I've tasted. Lovely warm atmosphere with kids and dogs very welcome. I've also walked from the station and I'd say it's about 8 mins which is up a steep hill but worth the walk.

Was very disappointed again with the food, we went New Year's Eve and thought it was maybe because they were busy getting ready for nye party, so gave it another go for a family 18th birthday meal and again food wasn't up to standard not sure if chef has changed but was always very good, service was very slow and waitress miserable, long wait for condiments that we had to ask for anyway shame but we won't be bothering again ☹️

Finding ourselves quite hungry at Oxenholme Station recently, we spotted a sign which suggested that the Station Hotel was but 5 minutes along the road. It's way up a very steep hill and it took us, aged though we are, nigh on 20 minutes. The welcoming barman said that he could do it in five minutes, but then he was about 18. Because of the climb, we really felt that we had earned our treat by way of food and in this we were not disappointed. Food and service both very good. One minor snag was that we could not get into the rather crowded (and cramped?) dining area, but had to make do with the bar. No hardship as it was much more relaxing and quieter. As I say great food and the bonus was that we managed the (downhill!) trip back to the station with no problems at all.

Room Tip: Get a lift or better still take the car - big car park.

Fantastic hotel in stunning location, managed by lovely people. Spacious rooms, and good value as it included breakfast. We stayed overnight, and met family for dinner in the hotel. Food was excellent and service is from real people who interact with diners rather than automatons. Great evening.

Room Tip: Only 5 rooms, but accessibility friendly
