“A classic cottage experience in the Lake District”
Reviewed 14 July 2015 for a stay in July 2015

Had a lovely wee family holiday at Rockwood Cottage, Grasmere in the lake district.
Cottage was extremely well kitted out for all age ranges. There were seven adults, two young children 3 &4 and a 16month baby in our party, yet all was available to keep everyone happy. The log stove in the kitchen kept us all toasty and the large dining table meant we could all eat together. The house was very clean and lots of information was available for things to do on holiday. The separate annex of a double room, twin room, separate kitchen , bathroom and tv area was perfect too for two families to have their own space. The milk run every morning and night caused great excitement!!!
Only disadvantage, although it was mentioned in the summary of the accomadation was lack of outside space. The drive really only was big enough for three cars and there was absolutely no where for kids to play outside or make a bbq. The busy lane meant we constantly were locking the back door to keep kids in. However, with supervision for young kids the village of Grasmere really is only 15minutes walk/cycle along the lane to wonderful park and green areas.
As for the lake district, we totally loved it but keep in mind, its a very wet area and the country roads are extremely windy for car sick prone children!!!

This a brill detached cottage in grasmere.Very spacious, with a kitchen equipped with dishwasher, washer, dryer and a table big enough for all guests to sit round. There is a seperate lounge and games room, equipped with a xbox and various board games. The beds were very comfy. The cottage is about a 10min walk to the centre of grasmere , which has a couple of pubs and a grocery store. The only down side with this property is there is no garden at the rear, which is a must in the summer.Would definately book again for a winter, spring break

“Fantastic cottage”
Reviewed 23 October 2014 for a stay in October 2014

I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone. It was spotless when we arrived and very welcoming. Very well equipped and plenty of space, suitable for all ages. We were a party of adults and a 3 year old. It is good to have 2 lounges one with a tv and one without. We loved sitting round the big table. Will definitely stay again.
