We booked a last minute break to the Lakes so didn't have anywhere pre-booked.
We were lucky enough to get in at the last minute.
What a wonderful experience!
Lucy, when we made the booking, asked a fair amount of questions which we found a little odd. However when we arrived at the restaurant all became apparent. On the top of the menu was a brief summary of world news but also included was the names and short celebratory details of all pre-booked eaters.
The atmosphere was lovely and very romantic.
The staff were tentative and polite and the food was brilliant. We even got a minute of Lucy's time.
Would we eat here again? That would be a resounding YES.
Highly recommended.

Thanks so much to Lucy and her team for taking pity on us on Saturday night. We hadnt booked anywhere so chanced it in Ambleside but everywhere was busy. Lucy took us in from the cold wet night and squeezed us in for a lovely evening of delicious food and efficient and ultra friendly staff. Would definitely recommend.

We were a party of 4 for a friend’s birthday. When we booked, they asked us if it was a special occasion. We were so pleased to see our name on the menu. Cocktails In the bar were gorgeous. Staff were so friendly, atmosphere very pleasant. We were shown to our table which was again lovely. 4of us shared a baked Camembert -absolutely the best Camembert we have ever had. Our main courses were equally impressive, venison highly recommended if in season. Dessert was just as good, a simple vanilla ice cream with salted caramel simply sumptuous. Booking recommended esp at peak times.
