Best place to eat in Ambleside, delicious meal, great value and friendly staff. Chose from the evening menu, love the pate and the lamb, no room for pudding though!
We ate here twice taking advantage of eating before 7pm when three courses were offered for £18.95 or two courses for £15.95. The food was of good quality, wi generous helpings, and the service was friendly and prompt. Wine was reasonably priced with bottles available from £16.
We didn't have to book at that time but if you were eating later you probably would need to book.
A return journey and pleased to say things have returned to normal service! Friendly staff, beef bourguignon, good desserts and beers served at a proper temperature!
The best place in Ambleside if you're after something fairly rustic rather than fine dining
A friendly host, early dinner menu had a good choice. The food was good quality and we didn't have to wait an age for it. I would recommend a visit. we went for any early tea on a Thursday and didn't book a table - later on in the weekend it did look busy so would suggest you pop in to make a reservation.
