We had a fabulous stay. The accommodation was excellent, the staff very professional and most of all, everyone was so so passionate about the cats. It blew us away from the minute we arrived. This was a once in a lifetime experience and we loved it.....and the food in the evening was amazing...congrats to the chef ! Worth every penny...

We are so pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your recent Overnight Big Cat Safari.

We are really happy to also hear that you noticed and appreciated how dedicated and passionate our staff are as well as being impressed by our food!

It's good to know too that you found the experience well worth the money and valued contributing to the welfare of both the cats here and in the wild. It really is very much appreciated.

Had a nice morning visiting the cats. Started 11am finished by 12.45.
Complimentary drinks. No lunch offered and only light snacks available to buy. Would be nice if some sort of food was Inc for the price but unfortunately not. Not a big moan but tour felt a bit rushed tbh. Started well but value wise a tad disappointed. But I'm glad the money will go to good use. Maybe one of the other experiences would have been better. It looks like the cheetah experice was more hands on so may have been the better choice. Don't let this put you off though choose the right experience.

We do offer a wide range of experiences here at The Big Cat Sanctuary, perhaps a different experience may have been better for your expectations, such as a Cheetah Experience, Photographic Experience or one of our overnight lodge stays. We hope this experience hasn’t put you off returning to the sanctuary in the future.

Brilliant place to visit if you love and care about big cats. The staff are all so friendly, helpful and informative. Sadly only open for a few days each year and so the Open Days soon get booked up. Giles Clarke has dedicated his life to helping these animals to survive and thrive in the wild. A wonderful human being. I would urge every one to help him by becoming a member. A must place to visit for young and old.

Thank you so much for reviewing and supporting The Big Cat Sanctuary.

As a Sanctuary we are indeed only open to the general public for our Open Days in July. We do, however, have various experiences that are available throughout the year.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review and we are so glad that you enjoyed your visit.

An overnight lodge stay as a wedding anniversary present. On arrival meet and greet and shown to a fabulous lodge ( named lion lodge) only 20 yards away from the lion enclosure. Time to settle in and then high tea and Prosecco. Well presented and excellent quality seated in the conservatory overlooking the lion enclosure. Then a 2 hour guided tour of the sanctuary getting very close up to some very big cats.Even had the opportunity to hand feed( with tongues) the tigers. Back to reception for mulled wine...a relaxing hour in the lodge before a gourmet dinner.
Drinks first then back at the table overlooking the lion enclosure...sadly the food didn’t live up to expectations. My starter of pigeon was dry and my wife’s main course of hake and sweet potato was extremely disappointing..the potato was burnt. A bottle of house wine softened the blow only slightly. Next day up at the crack of sparrows for a superb full English breakfast then another 2 hours of guided exploration of the sanctuary. If we thought day one was good this was even better. There was an opportunity to hand feed the big cat of your choice and we watched as other guests fed cheetahs, leopards, white tigers and we chose the white lions, wow what an experience..there was even additional time to wander around the sanctuary before leaving. A final stop in the souvenir shop and then off home.
Yes it is expensive. But worth every penny. An opportunity of a lifetime to get close to these superb creatures and hand feed them...wow...saving up for the next visit.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review of your recent Overnight Big Cat Safari.

We are very happy to hear that you and your husband so enjoyed celebrating your wedding anniversary with us and that you found the experience to be both unique and 'worth every penny'. We are, however, sorry to hear that some of your evening meal did not live up to your expectations - we have passed on your comments and thank you for bringing this to our attention; we are constantly striving to provide both variety and improvement to our menu and our guests feedback forms an essential part of this process. We are so pleased that this did not impact on your overall enjoyment of your stay and that your full English breakfast did not disappoint in any way.

Hand-feeding one of our big cats is indeed a remarkable experience and we hope you took away some special memories from your visit.

Thank you again for your review and we look forward to welcoming you again in the future.
