Description: Azouma, a Moroccan/Lebanese restaurant has been rated top 3 Arabian restaurant in the country by AA Gill on Sunday times. is located on Church Street in Canterbury, is a calming haven from the bustle of every day life. The traditional dining room, decorated with lanterns and throw cushions, is perfect for romantic dinners, relaxed business lunches, family get-together and fun celebrations. The exotic menu at Azouma features regional dishes from Lebanon, Morocco, Tunisia, Syria and Turkey – favorite dishes include the succulent Tagine Djej Bzetoun – slow-cooked chicken with piquant lemon and olives; and the sea bass baked in traditional Lebanese style. There is also a wonderful selection of mezze, delicate couscous dishes, spicy char-grills and delicious pastries, all complimented by fine wines and beers from Arabia and North Africa.

Had both the buffet and evening dining. Wonderful atmosphere and made you feel really cosy. The staff are always lovely and the food is authentic and great. My favourite place to eat in Canterbury.

Their “Eat as much as you like” set menu buffet lunch of North African delights - vegetable tagine with couscous or rice, lamb balls and chicken pieces, plus lots of other mains to help yourself to - is worth every penny of the £8.95. There are equally delicious starters and desserts at no extra cost.
Off the beaten track, outside the City walls (towards St Augustine’s Abbey), this gem will always offer you a warm welcome to some very comfortable eating areas.
We’ve eaten here several times over recent years, and never been disappointed.

The restaurant was absolutely lovely! A very authentic ambient, accompanied by soft traditional music.
The starters are a real hit, especially the mezzes being served in small colourful bowls, allowing you to taste a little of everything the restaurant has to offer.
The main courses are quite grand and it is a real struggle to finish them, but you needn’t worry going home unsatisfied!
The staff is lovely and attentive, and all contribute to the lovely aura of the restaurant

I went to Azouma with my partner to have dinner. The food is highly recommended and the service was also good. The decoration and the music was inviting and appealing. One of the best restaurants in Canterbury by far!

Four of us went for the 'all you can eat' lunch, and it was the most delicious meal I have had in a long time. Every single element of the meal, from the salads, to the hot mains, to the desserts was exquisite and I was in heaven going back for more so that I could sample many of the dishes on offer. I would strongly recommend this to anyone who likes North African food. Scrumptious.
A small note about booking in advance: Unless you specify an upstairs table, you may find yourself downstairs if all the tables are booked/occupied.
