Stayed in the attic room, very quaint with nice large bathroom. Narrow wonky staircase to room. Bed is just a standard double.

Pros - very clean, really nice staff. Location is great, city wall just across the road - just a few minutes stroll to all the main attractions. Car park 20yds from hotel & you get a 24hr permit for £6 which is a huge saving compared to paying at the machine.

Cons - It’s a bit noisy being right next to the main road so if you’re a very light sleeper (thankfully I’m not) this may not be for you but they do supply ear plugs if you feel the need to use them. Our stay was a saturday night & breakfast on sunday was a continental one delivered to your room. Lovely if you like making your own tea/coffee and then munching granola, greek yoghurt & croissants/jam.....me, well if I’m away for the weekend, paid £150 for a room and there’s a highly recommended restaurant downstairs I’d like the option of a cooked breakfast.

....and that’s why I gave it 4/5 ;-)

We ate here last weekend and the food and service was excellent, even more so as Alison is dairy and gluten intolerant. She was not made to feel awkward, as she is in some places, and her food was delicious so a massive thumbs up from us, thank you

The steak was tough, rubbery and just spoiled the meal.
The rest of the food was nice and I would've let the Steak slide if it was reasonably priced but for £20 you'd expect a fairly decent cut of meat.

The Corner House is a great restaurant. Started with a warm welcome. Ordered a sharing lamb which was spot on for a couples meal. Good value for money alongside great service. One of the best in Canterbury.

We brought a visitor from New York to visit the cathedral on a cold and wet day. We had a very good lunch here at a very reasonable price. The food was largely local, home made bread, everything very good indeed. It's perhaps significant that a table of French people was eating next to us and seemed very happy.

Service was very competent and pleasant.

We agreed this really could not have been bettered in London or New York even at a higher price.
