Other reviews? How very odd! The names seem to match up and I recognize the reference to a resident dog but he didn't attack anyone during our stay and at 13 years old seemed indifferent to anything other than being patted.
However back to the review, our room was clean and comfortable and we had the good fortune to be given a different room to the one which we stayed in last time so we could see that the second room was as good as the first. We returned to Fern because we're fussy about service and avoiding the slick "chrome & plastic" that I have endured all over the globe from Buenos Aires to Nagoya and the honest homely service suits my wife and myself. We asked for and got the English breakfast that we wanted. Our windows opened and let in cool fresh air on the two warm nights that we stayed and we slept well without street noise interruptions. We didn't spend much of our time looking for dust but had there been any I'm sure that we would have complained
We might return to St Albans for another swaree sometime and we'll be asking Dorathea to accommodate us again. Heaven preserve the traditional English quality B&B like this one!More
