I wandered in yesterday looking for a drink.
There were five hand pumps (always an excellent sign). Most were serving various McMullen ales, low in alcohol, but high in flavour and refreshment. As I was driving I stuck to a half - and wished I had come by coach or train.
It sits on the side of a river just a short distance from the remains of Hertford Castle.
In the summer or when it is warm (as yesterday) it must be wonderful to sit beside the water, eating one of the wide range of burgers on offer.
