We walked in with no reservation and despite the restaurant being full, were offered a nice table in the bar. The staff laid the table with lovely clean cutlery and napkin. They also bought over water for the table and explained the changes to the evenings menu.

We had the Haddock and burger - Both tasted amazing! We ordered the brownie to share, which I found a little disappointing for my taste but my husband loved it.

The staff were excellent and rushed through our dessert order so that we could make it to our film on time.

We had dinner here in this quaint and atmospheric pub.
Food was nicely presented and the staff attentive and friendly.
Nothing was too much trouble.
But the homemade bread was simply amazing and I would recommend for this reason alone.
A most enjoyable dinner

We didn’t stay in a room but visited for lunch. The pub is worth a visit even for a quick drink just to look at it’s architecture and decor. Inside there are two main bars and a two or three other rooms off the side from one of the bars. Tables are also available outside the pub in the street. Inside the walls are covered in fascinating memorabilia. An example of the quirkiness is the use of old fashioned school desks as some of the tables in the bar.
We visited on a really hot day and found it pleasant to sit inside. We just had something light to eat; food and service and were up to scratch. Would love to come back and stay here as it in the old town area of Winchester and has a special ambience.

This place was so odd and so unusual. A step back in time, food was excellent. The full English was a must have, so don’t skip it. The evening meal was excellent. The room was small, but had everything that I needed. Becoming a fan of Fullers

The place is a treasure and updates were appreciated. Would have given 5 stars, but service has deteriorated since our last visit. Breakfast often ran out of croissants and some jams, and the fruit plate was meager and picked over. Housekeeping entirely forgot to do our room one day, and then did a very sloppy job, not even cleaning the bathroom, the next.
