Stayed here for one night. Situated in a small village with very old buildings and a lot of history, this hotel keeps up with those traditions. The reception itself is aged, but very well looked after. The stairs are creaky which adds to the experience that you are in a building which has had a lot of people walk up and down them over the years.

The room I stayed in was a dog-friendly one, as pets are allowed in the hotel and I had my Victorian Bulldog with me, which seemed appropriate for the setting. The room was very clean considering it likely had a fair few dogs in it before us and everything was in wonderful condition. The bed is a poster one which is of ample size and comfy.

There are plenty of mirrors in the room and some other aged furniture. Plenty of tea and coffee in the room and a TV that is probably too large on the wall. There is a hairdryer also fixed on the wall, a built-in wardrobe in one corner and a fan, which came in handy during a hot night.

The bathroom is new but keeps in with the traditions and the setting. A glass shower fits in well. Shower pressure is excellent and provides enough room to swing the proverbial cat. I did not use the bar and restaurant facility, but it looked clean and tidy. I had a glance at some's breakfast which did look appetising.

Overall, a nice stay in a very well looked after and cared for building. The room was lovely and staff friendly. Take a stroll around the village and there are also plenty of other restaurants and cafés for your perusal.

The staff at the Ormond gave us a very warm welcome. Our room was really lovely, a super comfy bed, spacious ensuite and really homely and clean. The pub is cracking with a good atmosphere, a good selection of food and drink and we weren't disturbed at all in our room. The breakfast was first class and all in all I'd highly recommend the Ormond.

We were made really welcome by the friendly and efficient team at the Ormond. Set in a great central location with easy parking close by, we had a fabulous short break in this lovely historic inn. We booked a deal including hot drink and cake on arrival, evening meal and breakfast- such a great place to stay.

So S and I shot off to the Cotswolds as it’s the last bank holiday of the year, what can we say about the Ormond

It’s clean, it’s quaint, loads of seating in the courtyard, staff are amazing, bed comfy, breakfast was good.

Downsides, no parking, was a bit noisy having room 7 near the kitchen, lots of steps and doors to get too the room. Although clean our room was a little tired, worst thing was the shower I can wee with more force.....

Nothing to really complain about but nothing much to shout about
