We chose the Edgemoor as we hadn't been in a while and, after looking at the extensive menu, chose 'duck with oriental salad' and 'sausage'n'mash'. Décor is functional rather than stylish and because of all the hard surfaces the noise level made conversation difficult as the place filled up. Our food arrived in reasonable time - sausages'n'mash were ok, mash rather gluey texture rather than fluffy but the duck was tough and chewy. We decided to share a pud and found the warm Bakewell tart really delicious, buttery crisp pastry with a soft almond filling. For £5.95 would have been even better with two balls of ice cream!

Food was fine, but not really anything more. The steak was a bit fatty and chewy, and our food took about 40 minutes to be bought out. The burgers were fine, again nothing special. Chips were a bit stodgy. Reasonably priced, and I'm sure on a nice day it would be lovely to sit outside with that lovely view.

We had lunch at this Inn-it didn't open until 11.30am but we had a coffee and sat down at a table with a lovely view over the Painswick valleys. Service was a little slow but the food was tasty and the combination of a small desert and coffee was excellent value.

Me and my partner were on our way to a restaurant in stroud for date night but as we drove past we smelt the food and just jam had to stop. What a beautiful place and the food was amazing. The pie was to die for. And the homemade cheesecake and mud pie tasted divine. We will defiantly be coming here with friends. The staff were very friendly and welcoming.

Visited Sunday lunchtime with 2 family members , one of them dairy and gluten free - waitress very helpfully advised which items were ok for them to eat - choice was limited somewhat but perfectly acceptable and they were happy to alter dishes to accommodate requirements. Grilled cod, veg curry and steak pie (with veg instead of chips) were all good choices. Tough stalks on kale were inedible, should have been obvious when prepping veg, careless error. Dairy-free ice cream, caramel brownie and lemon and pistachio cake all good.
