“Lovely hotel, wonderful weekend away”
5 of 5 bubbles Reviewed 20 February 2012

I stayed at this hotel as a late valentines trip with my boyfriend. The hotel was very easy to find, and yes was on a main road but our room (204) was at the back so heard no road noise at all. The room was small, but perfect for the 2 of us. It was the most cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in. The room had a kingsize bed, full size fridge with complimentary water, tea, coffee, biscuits etc. Also a kettle, hairdryer, tv. You can hire dvd players if you wish.

We had dinner in the downstairs restaurant, i booked the table a few days before coming and i was told i couldnt have a table (a little confusion the person i emailed didnt realise i was staying in the hotel). I explained i was a hotel guest and was then told of course i could have a table, but only 7pm or 8.30pm. However when we sat down to dinner at 7pm there were about 8 tables spare, and these tables didnt actually have people at them until 8.30/9pm. Even then the restaurant was not fully booked, there were always tables free. So slightly confused there. However the food was very tasty, although very expensive, a glass of French rose wine was £8. It was so much cheaper to buy a bottle. The service was efficient, if anything too efficient. I felt as if the waitresses were hovering around and watching us for the very minute we finished our wine to top it up etc. I know this makes excellent service but it kind of took off the "relaxed edge". However the food was perfect, wine lovely, and we really enjoyed our meal.

Check out was easy, the staff were very friendly. I would go back to this hotel.

Room Tip: Room at the back, we had 204 which was nice

I recently had to travel from Nottingham to Swindon for an all day meeting. Instead of staying at a hotel in Swindon again, my wife and I booked into Number Four at Stow. Having read the excellent reviews of the hotel restaurant we looked forward to our Valentines day dinner there that evening. The hotel is beautifully furnished and immaculately clean. After drinks in the very comfortable bar, we enjoyed an excellent meal served by friendly staff. The whole experience was excellent and we look forward to doing it again soon.

Room Tip: Rooms on the back of the hotel have views of the countryside.

We had a look at the reviews before we visited the hotel and felt that our stay had lived up to our high expectations. We had a wonderful time, staff went out of their way to be helpful. Rooms were very trendy furnished and extremely clean. We thought that all facilities had been carefully thought about. The food was at a very high standard and were very obliging when we wanted a slight variation of what was on the menu. We had a great time and would definately go again!

Just returned from one night stay at Number Four. All areas of the hotel are spotlessly clean, tastefully furnished, and all in all it's just impeccable! The room is of standard size but the bed is amazingly big and soooo comfortable...we loved it!!!! We ordered room service and although told it might take a little longer than usual because the kitchen was very busy we had a call from reception apologising for the delay and offering us two complimentary glasses of wine....very nice thank you!!
All staff were welcoming and friendly , especially Letty who served us the delicious breakfast.
We loved our stay and would highly recommend this wonderful little haven.
Many thanks.

Room Tip: Room 104 was perfect....the hotel cannot control nocturnal guests...the traffic noise is very minima...
