A friend and I stumbled across this little gem just in time for brunch. I had smashed avocado with chilli jam on sourdough and my friend had a traditional sausage sandwich. Washed down with a cuppa they were both delicious, service was excellent. We will come again if we visit the costswolds.

After having had a very disappointing start to the day and changing hotels due to abismal service this was like walking into a different world.

A friendly warm welcome upon arrival and a first class bacon sandwich with a bloody Mary sauce.

As it was my birthday they popped a candle in the sandwich and sang happy birthday.

It lifted our spirits immediately.

A first class cafe/tea room run by professional people who care.

We wanted to get ourselves a light lunch in Stow on the way to Chastleton House (National Trust), nearby. We’d been to The Hive before Christmas and had a very good lunch, so we thought we’d try it again. We were not at all disappointed; on the contrary, we were delighted! We just wanted something light so went for the soup of the day which was kale, red lentil and vegetables. The soup comes with a choice of sourdough bread (which I had) or a cheese scone (which my wife had). That may not sound exciting but it was my description really does not do it credit. The soup was utterly delicious and filling. It was obviously made with very fresh vegetables as you could taste all the individual ingredients, cooked to perfection. Both the sourdough and scone were delicious too. We will definitely go to The Hive again and I thoroughly recommend it.

We found this upon reading the reviews and so glad we did, we have been back at least 3 times since. You are greeted with such a warm welcome from the staff and they always do their best to accommodate finding you a table, which can be difficult as it is very popular. The food is absolutely delicious - fresh sour dough bread for the sandwiches which are lovely and the soup of the day is very tasty. Then you have the cakes ... so yummy!!! We would highly recommend and look forward to many more future visits!!

We visited this morning and so glad we did, such a beautiful breakfast.
On arriving just after opening we were told that it was pretty much fully booked due to a private group breakfast booking and lots of reservations due to it being the start of the Cheltenham race week.
They happily managed to fit us in, (including a 1 year old with pushchair) in on a low coffee table. Such a warm and friendly welcome.
We both opted for the full hive breakfast, and so happy we did. I could tell all ingredients have been well sourced and of high quality and cooked with care from the chefs.
The restaurant where I work is currently rated 4.5 out of 5 stars on TripAdvisor with nearly 1000 reviews. This place deserves to be over 6 stars.
Great quality, lovely place, warm service and superb value. We will definitely be visiting every time we visit the Cotswolds from now on.
Many thanks
