“A quirky, but homely little tea shop with antiques upstairs”

Happened across this tea shop one afternoon and stopped for coffee and cake.
A lovely homely place with big scrub-top pine tables and comfortable, mismatching chairs, books and magazines and a few antique bits and pieces to complete the feel and giving a clue to the little antique shop upstairs.
The coffees and cake were excellent, inexpensive and served with a smile by the owner, but we could have chosen from a much bigger selection of drinks, snacks and light meals.
Recommended without hesitation for those who like something a little quirky.

Ignore the word 'Cheltenham' in the address! Guiting Power is a small village with a church , a pub , and a poorly stocked shop but it is picture postcard Cotswolds in terms of buildings.

Called in for a late lunch while walking from Bourton-on-Water to Winchcombe on day 3 of our self-guided walk with Cotswolds Walks. The town had its fete on and not much was open. We both had a bowl of the nicest home made tomato soup and bread. We were sitting down afterwards enjoying the ambience of the quaint little place and discussing our state of fatigue and the terrain to come to make it into Winchcombe. My wife had badly blistered feet so we decided to try to get a cab. The waitress kindly volunteered to ring one for us but was unable to find any cabs operating. As we got up to recommence the walk as the cafe closed, a man who had overheard the conversation offered to drive us himself. He introduced himself as the operator of the antiques side of the Old PO. When we insisted on paying him for this service he refused payment stating that it would be his pleasure. I again tried to pass a note into his hand and he said he'd be insulted if we tried to pay him. This kind person dropped us right at our next hotel in Winchcombe and suggested we pay a visit to Sudeley Castle which we now had time to take in thanks to his kindness. We later worked out that he had probably gone out of his way in the opposite direction to his own home to drop us off in Winchcombe.

This was a typical example of the warm hospitality we experienced regularly in this part of the world and thoroughly recommend a visit to the Cotswolds in general - and specifically to the Old Post Office in Guiting Power.

Thank You !!

Stopped by for a snack lunch which all enjoyed. Toasted sandwich was filled with quality ingredients and made with delicious bread from local bakery.

My partner and I loved the post office, I had a delicious Brie, bacon & cranberry toasted sandwich. Was great value as it also came with delicious creamy coleslaw & small salad! The interior is lovely with home made chutney/jams for sale along with cards and there is antiques for sale, both below in the small café seating area and the second storey is filled with beautiful antiques for sale. We loved the fact that it is also the village post office on Tuesday & Thursday's! Loved it!
