The Find was exactly what we needed, a very cosy getaway which was in the perfect location for exploring the lovely historic town of Rye and the seaside. Very warm welcome from Lesley who was helpful with suggestions and accommodating about arrival arrangements. The Find is spotlessly clean and we felt instantly at home there, there were lots of thoughtful touches like the welcome cake, milk and bread, the toiletries and even slippers! Very quiet too with no noise except for birdsong!
The Find is down a twitten (sussex word for a pathway) very near the centre of Rye.
The accommodation is compact but of the highest quality, it is comfortable and immaculately clean. Lesley the owner provided homemade scones and met us at the cottage to let us in. She was also very flexible about our arrival time. The kitchen/living room is well equipped. On the first floor is a double bedroom and shower room and on the 2nd floor a twin room. There are good roof top views from the top bedroom. Beds very comfortable and shower/ hot water good. The house is attractively 'dressed' with interesting old items while all the fixtures and fittings are new.
Rye is an attractive little town with lots of history, literary connections and plenty of places to eat in pubs, hotels and restaurants and cafes. It also has good transport links with a train station and regular buses. Rye sits on a small hill between the inland country side and the marshland to the sea. So there is a great variety of countryside within a short distance. Good walks in all directions.
Lesley does everything she can to make your stay comfortable and was a very good host.
