The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment and I am sure will get better reviews in the future. It is not an expensive hotel and therefore the rooms are basic but clean. Very comfy mattress. Staff were friendly and trying their best with the facilities they have.

Now we only stayed one night, and it was cheap so I can’t complain too much but our room was at the end of a dark corridor where the lights weren’t working so had to use a phone torch to find our way. On getting into the room it looked ok, a bit rough, but ok. Bathroom light over the mirror was hanging off and didn’t work. Bathroom ceiling covered in mound! Decided to have a shower which took 10minutes to get hot, by which time the blocked waste on the shower tray meant the whole thing was overflowing! Then thought I’d make a cup of coffee. To find out the room only has one electrical socket and the kettle lead was so short I had to get on the floor with the kettle to make a cuppa. On climbing into bed we found there was no bedside lights and that the bed was so short our feet were hanging out the end! My wife is 5,9” and I’m 6’ so we’re not giants! Went down for breakfast in the morning and on entering the dining room/building site! We decided to give it a miss and just head home. So all in all a pretty rough hell hole of a hotel but for £40 a night I probably shouldn’t have expected anything more!

Don’t be taken in by the word new in the property name ,there is nothing new about it , paid £369 for two rooms for one night, dirty rooms ,mouldy bathrooms.dodgy electrics
Didn’t even dare try the breakfast as the standard are so bad , would have walked out like some of the other guests did on arrival but Brighton is busy on a Saturday night and couldn’t secure another hotel with two rooms ! , I noticed a lot of homeless people sleeping in shop doorways in Brighton and to be fair if I had a choice between the new cosmopolitan and a shop doorway I’d dig my sleeping bag out !

Room Tip: Don’t book this hotel
