I arrived here to a very lacklustre welcome. I was handed the keys as they left to go out somewhere. The room was clean enough but the towels could have been fresher. I asked the owner for some cutlery which seemed to offend him and he simply didn't bother to get me them. There was seemed to be some building work going on which was very noisy during the day and at no point was this mentioned or apologised for. Would not stay here again they need to learn how to be hospitable.

Had a long weekend in Brighton and picked Hudsons as was close to the beach and local bars. Pleased to find the guest house was clean and comfortable, not much noise and a cute little en suit shower room. It was an easy walk to good night life and the Lanes, and the owners were very welcoming and helpful. Great find!

We stayed here for 1 night. We paid £77 for a basement room which is average (but by no means cheap) for this part of Brighton. The room was nicely decorated and cozy, with an en-suite bath/shower. Unfortunately neither heating appliances seemed to work in the room and so we were cold at night time and had to use the extra blanket provided. Towels did smell musty like other reviewers have mentioned but this didn't bother us that much. You cant have a bath between 7:30-11am due to water pressure/hot water supply to other rooms, which seemed a bit odd but again for a 1 night stay wouldn't be so much of an issue. Aside from this the owner was friendly and welcoming and compared to similar guest houses/B&B's we've stayed in around this area this one was one of the nicer ones in terms of cleanliness and noise (the street is in the heart of a busy area but away from the noisy parts so it was very quiet). If we were staying longer then 1 night we may have eventually felt uncomfortable - but I think the owner may reserve this type of smaller room for 1-3 night stayers. If you don't mind cluttered décor this is a great place - if you like clean lines and clear surfaces you may find this guest house a bit un-relaxing to stay in.

My boyfriend and I recently spent a long weekend at the Hudsons. Lovely guesthouse. So reasonably priced, great value. Amazing location, just minutes from the seafront and pier. The room was immaculate with tasteful, well put together decor and quirky artwork. Nice little en suite with a shower. Great complimentary toiletries, tea and coffee facilities and mini fridge/bar in room with a very reasonably priced choice of soft drinks, water and alcohol. I cannot praise this guesthouse enough, would definitely stay there again. Very highly recommend.
