We visited to view the Constable exhibition which was fantastic. You have to walk through some of the museum to reach the temporary ones and there is a fantastic amount to see in here from art deco to theatre props. It may be small but it is perfectly formed and being next to the Pavillion the building itself is also interesting.

Our 5yo loved this museum, and almost cried when we had to leave. There's a great activity kit to borrow with a proper torch, magnifying glass, colouring kit, map, compass, special bag... The list goes on. She adored getting the bits out and using them as we went around, not to mention the dressing up in costumes, using the interactive touch displays, listening thorough the telephones to people taking about the displays... So much to enjoy.

Well done Brighton Museum. Well done.

Thank Triscopic

A nice museum. It is a little small but really sums up Brighton. It is worth the visit. The staff are really nice.

This is our best museum, stuffed full of interesting things - some very old and some surprisingly recent. It fascinated me as a child and delights me at 72! From modern design and social history to ancient history and costume, its all there. And a stone's throw away from the Royal Pavilion and our famous shops, eating places and wonderful promenade.

Made a special trip to Brighton to see the Constable & Brighton exhibition. Fascinating! Another side to Constable's better known work. Nicely presented and very interesting. If I have a complaint, it was too brief! However, compensated by discovering Glyn Philpot's work in an adjoining gallery - what a treat! Such a talented and multi-faceted artist. And as ever, enjoyed walking back slowly through the 20th century furniture and arts. Only disappointment was no cafe. Don't forget for local residents, this is a wonderful free facility!
