The last time we stayed here it had just been taken over and was far from good and neither was my review. Having decided to give it another chance we booked into a sea view room which apart from the dirty windows was excellent. In fact the whole hotel was much improved as were the staff. The only area that we could comment on was the breakfast, which again was very good but I do wish hotels of this standard would provide toasters into nicely coloured toasted bread and not just warm it (three toasters and not one fit for purpose even for a member of staff to operate). The other disappointments were that marmalade was not available only mandarin jam which is not the same and a lack of fresh fruit melon only.

Room Tip: Go for a larger sea view room.

On booking a wheelchair accessible room by telephone We were assured the bathroom would be fully accessible. Unfortunately this was not the case! We required assistance from friends, luckily staying at the same hotel, to transfer from the wheelchair to the toilet. There were no hand rails, the hand basin had a solid base so the wheelchair could not be pushed up to it and the position of the entrance door meant the door could not be closed. Apparently we should have requested a "fully accessible" room not a " wheelchair accessible room"

Really relaxing atmosphere. The staff were really friendly and helpful. Excellent location, close to lanes, beach, pier and amenities. Great value for money. Would definitely stay again. Highly recommended.

My partner had booked us in here before the bank holiday weekend in August as a surprise for my birthday.

Upon arrival there was a hand written birthday card, a bottle of wine and a stick of rock waiting for me, a lovely touch which was much appreciated!

The location is amazing. Extremely close to the pier, the view from the restaurant is unrivalled and this is a major plus point for the hotel. Breakfast was lovely.

The rooms were lovely & spacious, the bed was humungous and extremely comfortable. Rooms were of a good standard and had no complaints whatsoever.

I was a big fan of the massive atrium which had plenty of seating and waiting room.

We also made use of the in-hotel spa where we had two treatments. The girls in the spa were lovely and offered an extremely professional service. One of the treatment's were so relaxing I fell asleep! I also made use of the hotel's gym and my girlfriend used the swimming pool during our stay.

I felt very welcome here, staff seemed very approachable and always willing to help. I will definitely be returning to Brighton in the near future and will also definitely be returning here!

Wonderful hotel with the most fragrant of lobbies. The hotel is a little pricey considering the services available (the pool is quite small as is the gym) and the facilities in the room are quite dated given what other hotels offer for an equivalent price (i.e. coffee machine, usb ports etc..) The room was large and very clean as was the whole hotel. We had a problem with the pool being freezing cold which transpired was due to a missing part, However the hotel recognised this and addressed the issue to our satisfaction as soon as we raised it. Jerome and Carolina were most helpful and very responsive to us raising the issue of the pool. It would appear that this hotel and its management take guest satisfaction during your stay seriously and this is to be commended. There is an issue that faces the hotel in that the back (the entrance via town hall) has people who are not staying or purchasing facilities at the hotel using the lavatories and have unsupervised access to the hotel and potentially the corridors where the rooms are located, this is something that has been raised on previous comments and something that the hotel need to consider (possibly having a check in desk alongside the spa desk at the door).
