“Home away from home for a young family”
Reviewed 18 February 2016 for a stay in February 2016

What a perfect place to stay for a family of four (4 yo & 2 yo) looking for a three night break in half term in a beautiful spot in Dorset. The house was well laid out with a large, warm, light and well equipped kitchen and adjoining sitting room. We really enjoyed having a fire in the evenings and the girls enjoyed the huge range of children's books. The house is a good size, clean and comfortable and exactly what we were looking for.

We loved the village, the church and a walk in the field with sheep. Thanks Stanley for the really helpful information brochure in the house setting out all of the options.

This is a beautiful house in a stunning part of the country. We drove through so many idyllic villages with pub, ancient church and stone houses. There is so much space and it was so beautifully quiet at night. All in all, a great break.

“Gem of a cottage in beautiful Dorset landscape”
Reviewed 24 June 2015 for a stay in June 2015

We booked the cottage for three nights as a last minute break and it truly exceeded our expectations. It is beautifully furnished, clean, comfortable and well equipped. It is perfectly situated and is ideal both as a self catering base and a cosy retreat. The house is full of books which we enjoyed dipping into. We also enjoyed the garden, particularly the amazing view from the bench overlooking the beautiful local landscape. The owner has made the cottage a very welcoming retreat but we also managed a couple of trips to nearby Shaftesbury and Sherborne and to Wells. Our stay was a short one but we will definitely be returning in the future. Perfect choice, very highly recommended.

“Superb cottage in a great location”
Reviewed 11 May 2015 for a stay in May 2015

We spent 4 days in the cottage, but we should have booked longer since we so much enjoyed the house and the trips we made.
The cottage is perfect: it has all the comfort one expects, it is tastefully decorated, cosy and well kept, and the many, many books add to the atmosphere. There is a large garden with a great view.
The property is located in a small village in a lovely countryside, and very quiet. We made trips to Bath, the New Forest and Sherborne castle, each no more than 1 hour drive. Supermarkets only on a couple of miles distance.
Only remark is the wifi-internet access: it works but it is quite a bit slow sometimes, which really was no problem for me.
I would certainly recommend this property as a holiday destination!
