We booked this restaurant on the 30th so were grateful that we were able to secure a table for New Years Eve. Based on previous eating experiences at the pub/restaurant we were looking forward to it. The menu was promoted as a five course Tapas style dinner which was a varied choice of a number of mains, from which you could choose four, followed by three dessert's, from which you could choose one. In reality this was only one choice, cheesecake as the other two were 'drinks'. Having made our selection staff explained that the main courses would be served one at a time throughout the evening. Half an hour or so later one of our party had three of their choices on the table whilst another had only one. We sat agast as within quick succession all sixteen mains were served and rather comically staff attempted to place them on a table which was barely adequate for four. There was no choice but to scrape all four mains onto one plate in order to make room. Waiting staff, when asked for an explanation as to the change of serving policy, intimated that the kitchen appeared to have got it wrong!! That certainly was not the case on other tables. Once on a plate altogether the quantity of our four main choices barely reached what you would reasonably expect of one main course. However the saving grace was the quality of the food which was very good, with the exception of shrammed king prawns, which had to be replaced. All in all we felt that the concept of a Tapas menu was was created for the convenience of the kitchen on a busy night and not the customer and this eating experience was a bit of a blag which let down a special occasion. Would we risk it again? Even taking into account the reasonable £35 a head price, probably not!!
