We staying as 2 couples for 2 nights 6-8 May 2016.
LHH is really a classic and grand property. The approach is actually quite reminiscent of the Fawlty Towers lodge made famous in the 80s by the TV serial. The olde world charm is unmistakable - from its interiors, rooms, service, layout and amenities. and you kind of expect John Cleese to appear out of the woodwork!
The rooms are simply charming and the whole atmosphere is very quiet and non-intrusive. The sitting area by the outside swimming pool is very attractive if the sun is out but we did use it for tea and scones wrapped up against the the light chill. The bar too is a classic and, with the resident musician, it will make for an enjoyable evening.
The Lodge is not by the sea - so if you are looking for the sea views and water activities, this isn't the place for you. 2 alerts - the Hotel does not accommodate Hen or Stag parties and does not allow children 15 years and younger.
LHH is a great place to relax and frankly you really don't need to go to town, which by the way, is quite a happening place including a Michelin starred restaurant The Elephant.
