Excellent from start to finish. No other words to describe the stay. Location, reception, rooms, meals, service, all 1st class.
Extensive choice of menu, even for the group of 40+, for all four courses.
Hot plates! No long waits between courses.

Lovely hotel, prime position right by the sea. Stunning views, lovely garden and pool. Good food, excellent staff. Can not say a bad word about this place, I love it. Good bus and train service very close to the hotel.

This was another great visit to the Livermead House hotel which we have been looking forward with great excitement for the last year. On our arrival we were greeted in a friendly and welcoming manner and instantly felt like we had not been away. Our rooms were both comfortable and spacious and very clean. Rooms are continually been updated with many now having more of a modern style and duvets available on request. Both the double and twin rooms we booked offered great views around Torbay and of the pool.
Once again the food was faultless. There is such a large variety of food available and so there is something which will appeal to even the fussiest of eaters. All the staff are attentive and nothing is too much trouble. The dinning rooms decor is also lovely and with the piano playing it makes your meal feel very relaxed.
We also look forward to the entertainment especially from Spencer who is very funny and plays a large variety of of songs and helps to create a happy atmosphere.
If you are looking to have a relaxing holiday in a country house hotel then this is the spot for you, as the staff continually make you feel special and valued. The hotels location is second to none and the centre of Torquay is easily within walking distance or accessible on bus which stops directly outside the hotel. However to have a good holiday you don't even have to leave the hotel as there is a lovely lounge, hot tub and sauna all available to help make your holiday that bit more special on site.
We will definitely be returning. As our last day is always a sad occasion.

Room tip: Book a room with a sea view and request a duvet.

I stayed here in July whilst on a cricket tour.

The hotel itself is clean and un-offensive; it is just very dated. The twin room we had was of a reasonable size, but definitely needed some modernisation. The decor was very much from the period when holidaying in Britain at the seaside was the norm, but it was clean. The bathroom was quite small though; and being quite a tall chap, I struggled to be able to stand upright properly under the shower.

The breakfast was not overly impressive; there was the usual array of continental and cold options (although the selection was not as large as some other hotels) and the cooked breakfast was clearly partly cooked in the microwave.

I only had one meal in the hotel which was actually not too bad at all; but it was gammon, egg and chips which, if spoilt, would have been amazing.

The hotel staff on the whole were very friendly; although one or two of the staff at breakfast were a little surly at times.

All in all, it was an OK place to stay, but nothing to write home about by any means.
