Owner description: Kents Cavern is by far Britain's most important prehistoric cave used by ancient humans for the last 500,000 years including Neanderthals and early modern humans. The caves are open every day for guide tours, 7 days a week with natural caverns, amazing natural formations, remains of mammoth, woolly rhino, sabre-toothed cats, an Ice Age woodland trail quest, nice shop and cafe with views over the Ilsham Valley. The closest hotel to the attraction is the Gleneagles, inspiration for TV's Fawlty Towers. We are 2km from Torquay Harbour and only 15 mins walk from the South West Coast Path and local beaches, well-known to previous visitors like Agatha Christie, Beatrix Potter, George V, Alfred Wallace and Charles Darwin. Perfect for a rainy or sunny day by the seas, winter or summer.

This has really made the effort to appeal to all age groups. From my own point of view, though, the caverns themselves were not as impressive as I have seen elsewhere, however my guide was very entertaining, and if it wasn't for such a personable young man showing the group round, this would have scored a lower mark!

Great entertainment & a wonderful insight into history. Elliott the tour guide was a good laugh and made a real effort to keep us amused throughout. The caveman breakfast is well worth a try and great value for money. Overall a great place to visit.

Luckily we won tickets for this place. I would have asked for a refund if i'd have paid. Not enough to keep the kids entertained.

Chris, the guide was brilliant, gave us lots of information with a light and humorous touch. The cave was fascinating with so much history. Our favourite facts were the den of the bears and the piece of human jawbone that the hyenas left behind. Combine your visit with a trip to the excellent museum in Torquay to discover even more about this great place
