Decided to pop in midweek on a wet Thursday evening in May. Doesn't look much from outside and they seem to focus on their 2 or 3 course set menu, (£11.95/£12.95) so no A la Carte menu obvious from outside. Was quite quiet but there were a few in. Decor inside is quite dated but from the moment we arrived the bubbly waitress welcomed us like regulars and really was an integral part of the experience. I ate from the set menu and it was excellent value for money. Many of the dishes were also on the main menu. My husband had a steak from the A La Carte which was melt in the mouth and all the mains were served with masses of veg and saute potatoes. Wine was reasonably priced and available by the carafe. We both left absolutely stuffed and all for £51 including wine. Highly recommended, they let the food do the talking so ignore the decor!

I have now been to this restaurant twice with a group of friends.as we were a large group we ordered in advance and the meals all arrived together and were hot and well presented. I would recommend this restaurant in Wellswood.

Went for a family celebration it was on a Monday so the place was very quiet but have to say we had the most succulent steaks, i agree the decor is maybe a little dated but can honestly say i think the food more than makes up for it, a member of our party had the mid-week special consisting of either 2 or 3 courses and her food was exceptional too.

I cannot fault the food at all at the restaurant it was amazing! However, that's where the praise ends. We went for a valentines dinner and the service was appalling. We arrived and were ignored and were eventually pointed to our table. This would have been acceptable if it was how all customers were treated but three more couples arrived after us, shown to their seats, coats taken and drinks provided all while we sat there with nothing! Bored of waiting my partner took our coats to someone and we were eventually offered drinks quarter of an hour after. What a shame as it could have been a lovely time if the service was of an ok standard at the least. Won't be rushing back anytime soon.

15 of us celebrated a late works Christmas Dinner. We pre-ordered. All the food was served hot and extremely tasty. The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. The Henry VIII steak was excellent. You hardly needed your knife! Everyone enjoyed their meals. Would definitely recommend and go again.
