This is a beach with no facilities. No cafe or toilets. Parking is on the edge of the road so not really suitable for wide vehicles. Lovely views out to sea and Mothecombe beach

Wonwell and Coastguards lie on the Flete Estate on the Erme Estuary. At low tide there are miles of sand to walk on and you can 'wade' across up to mid tide. Special place!!

Wonwell is my favourite beach to visit after we discovered it a few years ago through a friend. It is difficult to get to and there's very limited on road parking, if you visit at the wrong time and there's no space, you'll be turning back round! There's no toilets or cafe but the gorgeous scenery makes up for it. There's so much space to enjoy for all, our dog loves Wonwell and starts crying as we drive down the tiny lane to get there as he knows where he's going. Wonwell will always hold a big place in my heart as my husband proposed to me on the beach.

Wonwell (pronounced 'Wonall') is a gorgeous sandy beach, which, when the tide is out, is huge! Perfect for paddling with small children. The River Erme runs down the centre of the beach, so it's great for getting sand and salt water off kids and dogs before you return to the car.

South Devon beaches that don’t allow dogs on beaches at all or between certain months have these restrictions displayed on signs close to the beach itself. Please check the beach signage before taking your dog on the beach.

Parking is tricky - there are only a few spaces on the side of the road. DO NOT LEAVE THINGS IN YOUR CAR! It's not unknown for thieves to strike while you're down on the beach. Personally, we've never had a problem.

No loos, no cafe, no facilities of any type - just a lovely, sandy beach.
