Super hotel for myself and group of friends to rest our heads after a night in plymouth watching a show. We found the hotel very quiet, clean and roomy. Very close to the city centre, we were prepared to get a Ai into town, but no need, as only a few minutes walk. Breakfast was great, nice buffet and great cooked breakfast ordered at the table. Would definitely book again next time I need a hotel in Plymouth.

Stayed: March 2016

Thank you for your lovely review. We are lucky to be situated within walking distance of most attractions in Plymouth...both The Pavilions and the Theatre Royal are just a short walk away.

We look forward to welcoming you back to The Grosvenor in the future,

I have previously reviewed this great little hotel and am saddened that it could be negatively influenced by the behaviour of some of the guests. We were rudely awoken before 6am by the occupant of the adjoining room turning on his TV at full volume. I appreciate that this is not the hotel's fault and I think we identified the culprit at breakfast as he was sporting a large hearing aid. I think a notice should be clearly displayed in each room asking that TV's are kept on mute at anti social hours. Breakfast was very good but marred again by the thoughtlessness of some guests. To reach the buffet tables you have to negotiate your way between tables which is not normally a problem. This morning some people wanted to join two tables together
and decided to do so by straddling the access gangway - unbelievable.

Thank you for your review.

I am sorry that you were woken so early by a T.V in an adjoining room. We have volume restrictors on every T.V and since your review I have made sure every one is set to a level which would not affect the comfort of those in neighbouring rooms.

I have also passed your comments regarding the moving of tables in the breakfast room to our House Manager. I apologise that this wasn't rectified at the time by a member of our Breakfast Team.

I hope that you decide to stay with us again on your next visit.

I booked the Hotel as it was central for theatre and sightseeing, walking to the Hoe and Barbican and it certainly was We arrived early but were allowed to park at the rear of the Hotel in their small car park and returned to check in several hours later. The car park is ideal as there is a rear entrance to the Hotel so no lugging bags to the front but spaces are limited . If you cant park there you can buy a visitors pass at the Hotel for £3 which allows you to park out front all day - paid parking if you dont have this is alot more , but is free after 6pm The hotel is newly decorated and very smart, and very clean. we were in room 14 at the very top attic and is a hike up several flights of stairs, which with all radiators blazing it was extremely hot climb !!! our room , thankfully cooler , was large smartly furnished tastefully decorated and very clean , the bathroom was huge and newly done. very nice - a comprehensive guide is in the room and i think the hosts have thaught of everything in what they offer, the nights sleep was lovely but my husband didnt as the bed was too hard for him. breakfast is in the basement - help yourself to fruit croissants cereal etc plus coming round for your order for cooked - whatever you fancied. i would say i found the dining layout a bit cramped and it wouldve been better to allocated tables and didnt like the large tv on the wall with news running on it but thats a me thing . the food came quickly and was nice, liked the fact they used branded tea and coffee in rooms and dining all in all i felt like the hosts have paid attention to detail from decor to the little things that make customers happy, stairs would be an issue for some and it was so hot in the hotel area for us great good value location definately recommend and would use again.

Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review.

We source as much produce as locally as we can...from our Free Range Eggs which are supplied by Moores Farm in Plymouth, to our Butter and Milk which is supplied by Trewithen Dairy. We think this makes for a much tastier breakfast!

This is a nice hotel, with friendly staff and a great breakfast. Room very clean and nicely kept. We had a room overlooking the road, but it was quiet and had nice big windows. Good selection of cooked and buffet breakfast
