We booked one night at this hotel as visiting Exeter for a funeral the next morning, unfortunately due to the snow the funeral was cancelled and we could not get home so ended up staying another night. Hotel is a little old fashioned and defiantly in need of a refurb. Lounge/bar area was very cold and draught as Windows were being repaired but had big gaps in. Staff were really friendly and helpful and gave us a small heater to keep us warm whilst sitting playing Scrabble.
Room was very nice and warm and comfortable. Due to the snow there were very limited staff in which meant a lot of work for those in but they continued to smile and try their best. Food was ok, I have to say breakfast was a huge dissapointment, it looked undercooked and very uninviting so I stuck to the toast cooked by myself .. which for £10 was an expensive breakfast! Therefore we did not partake on the second day. Evening meals were ok but limited menu.
Nice grounds and potential to be a beautiful hotel but needs some work. More
