We thought we would try there offer of 2 for 1 and were very pleasantly supprised .The service was good and the Fish and Chips with homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas was rather tasty .We thought as it was an offer that it would just be ok but no it was good !. Throughout the week they do offers as in 2 for 1 so check it out you may be pleasantly supprised ?

Our party of 3 visited on a snowy March lunchtime towards the end of serving time. The bar area was quiet, as was the town. I enjoyed an excellent crab sandwich, my wife ordered a gluten free salmon sandwich and my daughter chose a goat cheese salad. Accompanied with some local beer we spent a very pleasant hour there while the weather did its worst outside. Our King Charles spaniel, who is always well behaved, was made welcome too. Service was attentive, friendly and helpful. Overall, a great experience.

The waiters were smiley, helpful and easily accessible. Requests acred on immediately. Then a most wonderful birthday cake the size of a house. Superb ,cooked by Leigh the owner., her cakes are so delicious but cake filled us so no room for dessert. Extremely good value. Child and dog friendly.

We visited on the last night of our holiday in Dartmouth and the end of a wild week of weather. We both enjoyed sharing pork samosas to start (large portion, were glad we had shared!) followed by Cottage Pie. Both were excellent and made a good end to our week.. The pub was almost empty due to the weather, but the atmosphere still good and the staff made us very welcome. We would certainly recommend a visit.

Thank you for those kind words and we are pleased you enjoyed your meals and your visit to the G&D despite the best attempts of the weather to close the country down - We were open and happy to serve you brave souls that ventured out!

What a find, our first trip to Dartmouth. Booked before we got here and never went anywhere else for food during our whole stay. Staff so friendly, food excellent, only one draw back, never managed a piece of their chocolate and orange cake. We will be back in August.
