Came here for a drink after walking around Dartmouth. Nice bar with comfortable seating, friendly staff. Menu looked nice but we didn’t need food. Drinks were good and not too pricey. Ladies toilets were a bit of a trek upstairs but were nice. The upstairs restaurant also looked nice with great views.

We were 2 couples who stopped at this wonderful old hotel for lunch as we were on the 'Round Robin' trip of bus, boat and steam train in an excursion from Torquay. We chose our meal from the lunch menu and were very pleased with our 'sandwich of the day' being shredded salt beef with boulangerie potates. We asked to exchange the potatoes for salad and were more than pleased with what we had as it also came with cauliflower cheese. The boys had the fish platter starter and they too were very pleased with their choice.
I would definitely recommend this hotel and it's food to you if you are ever in Dartmouth. Service was very friendly and quick too but it was the building and it's atmosphere we really liked.

Very good location. But poor attention to detail. Ordered newspapers, never came. breakfast food good but disorganised shambles. Upper rooms need aircon, stifling. Not enough serving staff in restaurant

We ate here as part of the meal and film deal from the local cinema. The food allowance was £12 . All the main courses were more than this. We had a curry which was OK but we felt the spices hadn't been properly cooked. The hotel has a curry night so we felt it should have been better. Disappointed.
