Owner description: This brooding 13th-century castle sits on the rugged and spectacular Atlantic coast in Cornwall, which recalls the myth and mystery associated with King Arthur and Merlin the magician. New exhibition explores the stories linking Tintagel to King Arthur which includes a 3D model of the site illustrating how it has changed over the centuries. Dog friendly and child friendly, this is a great day out for all the family.

Visited here over Easter, unfortunately due to extremely high winds we could not go to the top. However, what a historical site, great for those interested in Knights in Armour. Recommend if you cannot do steep walks you use the Landrover Service.

It can't be emphasized enough how much steep walking is involved in this visit. We didn't find the walk to and from the castle too bad but we could see why they offer a land rover service down to the castle.

We first went into the exhibition and it's definitely worth doing this first so you know what you're looking at when going round that castle.

It would have been nice to get onto the beach but after talking to one of the staff members, the steps down to the beach is closed because the foundations of the steps have been washed away with the storms over the winter. Would have been nice if this information was on the website.

We just about made it to the statue without being blown off! Very glad we had our waterproofs with us to keep the wind out.

After visiting the castle, we each had a bacon sandwich to warm ourselves up with. Very good quality and priced well.

Thank Adam S

Really amazing views. It is difficult to climb all the different steps, it's worth it but also worth bearing in mind if you struggle with fitness. The castle is not really much of a castle... There was not much left of it at all!

What an amazing coastline. Difficult steps but well worth it. Disappointed that we could not get to Merlin cave because of damaged steps. Everyone enjoyed it.

This is an exhilarating place to visit. Exposed stairs and thrillingly views are not for the fainthearted but totally worth it.
