Before booking this hotel we read previous reviews. We can only agree with others that this hotel/pub provided excellent food (breakfasts to die for!!), all staff were very attentive and seaview room was very comfortable with well stocked tea/coffee, fresh milk available in fridge was a nice extra if required. Wifi is available but low access in room. Hotel position is excellent, some parking available but is next to Car park and for no drivers Bus/Coach access. Our first visit to St.Mawes will not be the last, locals were very friendly and considering the amount of dogs around the place was very clean. We shall also be back to Rising Sun - hopefully weather will be kinder - to again enjoy their excellent food menus, friendly staff and surroundings.

Every time we visit this delightful pub we are welcomed by lovely staff and a brill landlord! We have been visiting as a couple for around 6 years, and myself since I was 9, and he will always pop over and say hello and know who we are! The food is second to none and we have never had to make a complaint or even grumble about the quality. We decided to bring our friends on holiday with us this year, and choose to come here for our first meal out with them, they too were very impressed!

Room was spacious beautifully decorated with whicker furniture giving it a hint of the colonial. Beds very comfortable and choice of loose, earl grey or english breakfast tea with individual pots designed for the purpose. Fridge in hallway with help yourself thrilling bottles of lovely fresh Cornish milk and fruit basket. Dinner served in a airy conservatory with good view of the quaint harbour.
The fish was awesome! Scallops as fresh as could be and the hake likewise and served in the most delicious light and, creamy sauce.
Staff were charming and nothing too much trouble. Wish we,had booked in for longer!
Classy joint but not pretentious- nice relaxed vibe.

Room tip: Sea view room overlook quaint harbour

Relaxed environment, dog friendly with superb food. Excellent location and the bonus of some parking. Only went for 3 days but will definitely be back! There was free fresh milk available in the fridge on the landing. Beautiful views across the harbour whether sitting outside in the sunshine, or inside sheltering from the rain. All the food was very good, but the full English was outstanding.

We stayed at the Rising Sun with our two Border terriers. Our room was very clean, comfortable and well appointed with a very comfortable bed. Staff were helpful and friendly. We ate in the hotel at night and the food was good - we can particularly recommend the fish & chips ( very fresh fish & light crispy batter) and the Banoffee pie ( delicious).

We will stay there again.

Room tip: Sea view rooms have a view of the harbour and the coast
